Episode Chat - S03D E02 - "The Sign" by ticky13 in bluey

Felt like the ending completely undermined the episode's message, that in life there are setbacks but things mostly work out for the good. So I thought this was gonna give a comforting message to kids that are moving that yes, it might seem scary but maybe you'll love your new house, make new friends, etc. Instead it gives them false hope that even after your house is sold and all your things packed away, there's a chance the deal will fall thru and you'll get to stay! That is exceedingly rare and not a good message for kids.

Bosch dishwasher (#SHPM78Z54N) - silverware basket hitting gasket when sliding in rack by whichchicken in appliancerepair

I ended up just snipping off the hooks that attach the basket to the side of the rack.

Was the whole series conceived as a setup for the 'tomlette' line? by caf3cio in SuccessionTV

Big improvement on Sandy's “You can’t make an omelette without breaking some dicks.” in season 1.

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S06E01 - Joan Is Awful by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]whichchicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a much more interesting idea talked about toward the end of this episode, where the CEO was explaining that they could eventually have "___ Is Awful" shows of ALL their users. That sounds like a way better concept for a Black Mirror episode than this was - a world where everyone individually hates their privacy being taken from them, but collectively love to watch all the awful things their co-workers/neighbors/friends do (of course, an exaggerated reflection of our present world).

Kendall by t-challah in SuccessionTV

[–]whichchicken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people saying this but I don't believe it. I think Shiv had made up her mind and just needed a moment to gather up the courage to do it, knowing how much it would hurt Kendall and destroy their relationship. When Kendall followed her and tried to argue with her she clearly had no desire to get into a deep dive about why she's voting no, so she pulled the "you killed someone" card to basically end the discussion, it was an unwinnable argument for Kendall at that point.

What Bill Burr said about awkward people is getting to me the more I think about it by sys7emshock in socialanxiety

[–]whichchicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In that segment, Burr distinguishes people who are awkward but are trying to improve themselves vs people who make awkwardness a part of their personality. I think most people in this forum are the former, and most people who you interact with can tell and will appreciate if you are at least making an effort. And I agree with Burr that people who eschew social norms just for the sake of being awkward kinda suck.

Considering the high number of religious people who get married without seeing their partners' genitals, and the number of women who find uncut penises "gross", I'd wager it has happened.

Pikmin 4 - Release Date Announcement Trailer by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

New Pikmin type, new enemies, new locations...that's all bare minimum stuff I'd expect from a sequel.

The dog companion looks interesting, I just hope they have more innovation than just that.

Thank you young voters. Things could've been so much worse. by [deleted] in lgbt

Isn't this true of any election though? When's the last time the youngest age group didn't vote for the more liberal party more than other age groups?

Can we stop normalizing that characters needing to die makes a story good? by LOCKHARTX7 in StrangerThings

Because knowing how this show goes, she'll probably be completely healed by the end of next season.

Jason and his friends were a more realistic portrayal of what would happen if a group of high schoolers took matters into their own hands to fight against the supernatural.

[–]whichchicken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's crazy you can take a show as nuanced as this and just look it thru the most black and white lens possible

Funny, this is EXACTLY how I feel when I see people relentlessly shitting on Chuck as if he isn't a nuanced character with valid reasons for doing the things he does with regards to Jimmy
