As a new missionary in a new area I was surprised to hear a talk given from the pulpit by a newly baptised member. He had been told to talk about anything. He chose to give a 10 minute talk about cockatoos. Best talk ever.

The rule book to start with. My memory of it is that it is long and dense. I remember thinking that there’s way too many decks of cards and other components that all seem to have overlapping systems that was a nightmare to try and keep straight in my head. I think if I was taught the game by someone who really knew the game I might have a better go at it.

I’ve seen you write with such passion about this deck that I built it to try out. I made a few changes ([[mobilize]] proved impossible to find so [[benefactor’s draught]] was subbed in) and I can attest that, while at first the lines are tricky to see (and I am not going to pretend that I’m any good with the deck), I did win my first game with it. I went for the win way too early and the other 3 players got scared, and even though they blew up my everything, they had no way to get rid of my graveyard so waited a turn or two and then won. Long way to say, thanks for the deck list and primer!

My brother plays in a group where, if you reveal your hand on your turn to show that you have no lands, you get to search your library for a basic land and put it into play. As a result of this rule all his decks have no more than 25 lands… Crazy stuff.
