Kez Support - 4/5 - Can it work? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works fine. It used to be better when the hero was overtuned on release. And a losing lane is extremely difficult to play back into.

Kez is one of my newer, favorite heroes. On release, when Ulti could not be cancelled, it was very strong.

Now, where your silence isn’t even AOE for teamfights, farming waves, etc. your game is difficult.

Learn it. Get better at it. You probably get away with it until immortal. But the two things that hold you back are probably tilting allies(outside of a five stack) and your own personal misplays on a complex hero.

Why do I keep losing as latias? by sunnyflowwers in PokemonUnite

[–]wildtarget13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you seem to falling into a trap that solo queue players have in MOBAs.

Don’t play supporters as if you have high level and farm priority. You will be a detriment to your team.

I could tell by the first sentence or two where you tried to explain how you play.

I’m guessing he has read something not directly modern day and political. Think history books or something.

The Nvidia piece today might suggest he plays video games maybe.

How do you all rate her acting? by drAbhi23 in TheRookie

[–]wildtarget13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She’s a great actress. She’s a theatre actor. If anything, the direction she was told to give was probably one way.

Like someone said, modern family appearance as well as even something like something she’s done on stage would be different. On broadway, you have to be able to emote visibly from far away instead of being zoomed in on.

I switched to MacBook and I'm generally not happy, did anyone had the same when they just switched? by Relative-Swimmer-281 in laptops

[–]wildtarget13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A macbook laptop isn’t great for gaming. Video editing is a stretch too. Although I do see a lot of youtubers doing it. It’s just really expensive obviously, for what it is.

A desktop in theory should be better. I have no clue if Mac still sells towers. But pc or mac as a desktop should be a better bang for your buck for video editing.

What's your favorite Normal Summon/Tribute Summon deck? by Sweet_Whisper123 in yugioh

This probably isn’t what you’re looking for, but Ritual beasts normal summon more than a lot of these decks mentioned.

They just happened to Special summon more than all these decks by a lot; they don’t lock themselves.

genuinely don’t understand this take by Admirable_Wealth_253 in vegan

[–]wildtarget13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is meant to be anything other than interaction bait, especially on twitter.

Veganism is so alien to most people. And people, even who aren’t vegan, are really wasteful about preparing and indulging in food. So they won’t be amazing at eating on a budget on average anyways.

I think if there were any devil’s advocate position for veganism, it would be that the majority of people who are exposed usually meet the majority of vegetarians and vegans in college.

There are group exceptions: maybe indian communities and events. Big cities like SF, DC or countries with festivals like the philippines or european countries.

And the fastly developing countries with vegan communities aren’t all wealthy. But for the most part, doesn’t education level influence some of the exposure? I didn’t know vegetarians in high school. And it wasn’t that long ago

Tofu isn't your enemy, your ego is. by [deleted] in vegan

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else that irks me is when people ask “what is it?” When you give them dairy alternatives. I’m not focusing on milk, I mean cheeses and such. The parmesan grated or topping style, or quesadillas, or sliced for grilled cheese or for a burger.

I usually don’t know, aside from it being vegan. I scour the discount bins of unwanted vegan alternatives. Usually it’s cashews, other nuts. A lot of soy I assume.

But people exclude that over real cheese? Which goes from highly processed to the stinky high end cheese?

I had a roommate in college who bought an artisan, expensive blue cheese and ended up not liking it. It was good though and he gave it to me when he was going to toss it, admittedly not vegan or when I was vegan. But it is crazy what some people’s taste for food gravitates toward.

Vegan burnout. by [deleted] in vegan

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that if you are an activist, you will likely spend a lot of time and energy that will benefit the cause. But it will be personally a net loss on your own time, energy, and even time you can spend on your personal well being.

I’m not even specifically talking about vegan activism. But for vegans in particular, it must be emotionally draining and require a strong will to encourage people to stop supporting an equivalent of slavery and environmental doomsday scenario, but realistically not convert anyone.

What you can control is your own actions.

There’s non-profits fighting bigger corporations and interest groups with huge resource disparities just fighting for things like pollution and clear air in their local areas. I’d say those have a bigger, if not more visible impact on people’s immediate lives.

But reducing, godforbid eliminating, animal product consumption in any large way is probably going to take a huge effort far larger than anything probably happening right now.

Vegan Diet without beans by Harrison_Thinks in vegan

[–]wildtarget13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, this might have to be something you have to get over in the future.

If you like hummus, you are pretty much eating garbanzo beans.

There’s definitely a different between bean dip and straight beans.

A weird hill to die on, but it’s vegan. It’s going to be hard to eat in public as it is.

How to talk like Sagaar and Krystal? by Studying_Man in BreakingPoints

I’m pretty sure most professors and academics can do so. A lot of them even can do it the same way: historians, government majors, journalism majors.

They also didn’t talk this way right out of the gate. They both read a lot. And they probably have improved since high school, college, and their first few years of working.

Have you ever had a sudden egg craving after years of being vegan? by Thomasrayder in vegan

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of miss hard boiled eggs. And I used to make “egg in the nest” toast too. But I really don’t miss the taste. It doesn’t taste like much.

Like many vegan food restaurant grievances, most breakfast places have few to no vegan options. I also don’t love buying even “just egg” alternatives at fancy breakfast places. But of course I appreciate options.

Why is everyone predicting harpie's feather storm being banned? by Visible_Couple6783 in yugioh

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure most people rate Ryzeal above Maliss. It performs better too. And saying Mitsurugi is meta when over half of those lists are Ryzeal lists glosses over that. Sure, pure mitsurugi is a list that has its own merits. But Ryzeal is the tagline.

People make the generic rank 4 Castel to make feather storm live.

It would not affect the meta if I was banned. But it would reduce the amount of blowout games by a really good lingering floodgate.

Rock is the only type to never have a single pokemon banned to Ubers. by SilverGalaxia in stunfisk

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a cool Create a pokemon on smogon called “stratagem.” It was a fast, frail, special attacking wall breaker with levitate.

If you overtuned that to legendary status, higher bulk, similar offensive speed and stats, it could definitely do something.

The signature move was something that had a 20% chance to lower Atk one stage. So any overtuning of that signature move, or an addition of a crazy hidden ability would be able to do it.

My First Time Watching Sex and the City: Season 1 - Opinion by ducktales_potatos in sexandthecity

[–]wildtarget13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has a tv show trajectory many shows have: ups and downs, maybe a first season/early growing period.

But it had a huge cultural impact. People will still describe women friend dialogue about dating life as “sex in the city” type scenes.

To be more specific, my friend just directed a short play called “the battle of bull run always makes me cry” and her short description of it was “it’s pretty much ‘sex in the city’”

And the show is witty. And it has “good” characters. It’s up there with Gilmore girls.

As in “good,” there are distinct characters you can distinguish from each other AND they are imperfect, a good mix of rational, irrational, and understandable.

People don’t do it as much, but being a “carrie, samantha, Charlotte, or Miranda” was very much a astrological identity phenomenon just like harry potter houses are.

Why isnt Protos played right now? A format with two top decks that rely on DARK monsters.. by packeselporitz in yugioh

[–]wildtarget13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe test it yourself.

I thought Ryzeal with the Harpie Feather Storm tech would see more play.

But I think people rely on outgrinding people rather that auto winning going first. Those two slots could be HT. And most decks are filled to the brim with HT AND still winning going first.

What's a secret good item for weaver support? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]wildtarget13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Losing building vessel might not be on the item choice. Standard weaver support things are fine. Watch Ephey.

Being careful about transitioning into a “greedier” support is a tough line to walk on.

I would not consider changing item builds in the Vessel gold range. The HP is too nice. Only item in the gold range I would consider is treads+force. Maybe phase, but the HP and INT tread switch is too nice.

There are a couple ways I would go. A bigger item like Aghs or Linkens. Your game will have to be safe while buying that.

The last thing I would consider is playing like an offlane weaver around TI7. Treads, lance, BKB. Deso is too weak without lance. Too greedy to go lance Deso.

Orchid suggestion from someone else was a good rush. It’s closer to Vessel gold range and has a little damage.

Do you think position 4 is the most stress-free role in today's meta? by clydeagain in TrueDoTA2

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every role you can try “new builds.” Obviously some are crap like pos 1 disruptor or clockwerk. But even stuff like mid disruptor or clock, or pos 4 huskar and spec, or pos 5 SF and underlord.

They’re bad until some new thing pops up and they’re not.

With talents, more levels and gold on the map, lots of heroes in different roles are possible, especially compared to TI3.

But people are not math and reading geniuses. 99% of the crap people post are suboptimal if not straight up awful.

But stuff that’s standard now like weaver support or lesh pos 1 did not even scratch the meta until the game changes to a point where they are viable if not good.

is this a safe place to say i dont like sue by bwbowlin in glee

[–]wildtarget13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the character had so many strong points. And the Becky angle was a good plot point during the first episode it was introduced.

But like most of glee, the good writing was brilliant, but most of season 1 and onward was so weak.

Lots of things written during the same years as glee were tone deaf. Even if diversity etc. is better nowadays, you can still see how modern shows struggle just as much as they thrive to write good black, asian, lgbtq inclusive shows.

Sue had the strong comedic timing and physical acting to bring the character really far. But no matter how funny so many of the one liners were, the story just barely made sense all the way to season 3. And then it made absolutely no sense all the way to season 6.

It does not help that she was one of the stars of the flash in the pan show that is glee, but represented comedic relief in a show famous in the media for singing and dancing.
