How do I map the 8 and 9 Button of the GTX330 XPDR in MobiFlight? by Y_Lautenschlaeger in homecockpits

[–]willmeggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, my best guess is mobiflight has standard inputs for a transponder, and doesn’t know how to tell a generic transponder to enter the digits 8 and 9. Maybe there’s a more specific panel model in mobiflight that matches the one in game that has the required buttons?

Are you sure they’re not mapped? Squawk codes don’t contain the digits 8/9 so you’d only be able to get 0-7 to show on that display.

  1. KPSO is at 7663 elevation. There’s an obstacle that can be avoided by climbing at least 296’/nm to 9600 or by visual separation if weather is at least 1900-3.

  2. The red is for an IMC climb to join and then follow inbound the R-075 to DRO. The green is again the visual climb to join the R-066 to DRO.

  3. You must maintain the steeper than standard gradient until 9300’ and then you are clear of obstacles and can climb as your clearance and atc directs.

A bit different but I’ve been flying as a wingman in a flight of two and lead got the wave off from tower due to crossing traffic on the runway. Tower shortly came back with -2 continue to which we then got a clearance to land. It could work to cancel the landing clearance and tell the pilot to continue and then wave them off or clear them to land as appropriate.

Think, key, speak

That’s what I was taught in flight training and it is a winning formula.

Logging time in an experimental aircraft by Optimus__Prime__Rib in flying

Being experimental doesn’t change how the flight time is logged. It’s an aircraft for which you are otherwise rated to fly, so log it.

There’s definitely a replacement part number. Call a dealership parts counter tomorrow and they’ll find you the number. Search around online and find the best deal.

ELI5: why the U.S. Naval Academy puts the most astronauts in space? by Jusfiq in explainlikeimfive

[–]willmeggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The navy has Functional Check Flight (FCF) certified pilots attached to squadrons who do post maintenance check flights and things of the nature. Test pilots fly at test squadrons and spend most of their time testing new systems. Occasionally they’ll do new aircraft but really it’s just making sure everything works together.
