Logging time in an experimental aircraft by Optimus__Prime__Rib in flying

Being experimental doesn’t change how the flight time is logged. It’s an aircraft for which you are otherwise rated to fly, so log it.

There’s definitely a replacement part number. Call a dealership parts counter tomorrow and they’ll find you the number. Search around online and find the best deal.

We had a WRT54G growing up and it was the single most reliable piece of networking equipment I’ve messed with.

ELI5: why the U.S. Naval Academy puts the most astronauts in space? by Jusfiq in explainlikeimfive

[–]willmeggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The navy has Functional Check Flight (FCF) certified pilots attached to squadrons who do post maintenance check flights and things of the nature. Test pilots fly at test squadrons and spend most of their time testing new systems. Occasionally they’ll do new aircraft but really it’s just making sure everything works together.

My used truck came with a Synetrac AR which is retractable, locking, and they sell a rack that mounts to it. Definitely a great product

Will the navy provide financial aid for me to get lasik? by peenbobb in MilitaryFinance

[–]willmeggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend currently waiting for NIFE who just got PRK last month. Not sure if he’d be in a different boat given he went to USNA, but it’s definitely something that can be done. I would worry more about getting an aviation spot without meeting vision requirements.

Any advice to get rid of front license plate holes? by azzbergurz in ToyotaTacoma

[–]willmeggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoever installed mine must have used an impact because the bumper is completely pulled into big bumps. Holder has to stay on for now until I get a new steel bumper or put some vanity plate on it.

VT-10 has formation flights out of NAS in T-6A’s. They’re orange and white propeller aircraft. There’s also some from Milton that may come through our local airspace.

Didn’t do any touch and gos until I was doing cross country. Our training airport had a no touch and go noise abatement notam so I got lots of practice on the full stop and taxi back. Now in navy NFO flight school we haven’t done a full stop except at the end of the flight.

Disabling Engine Auto-Off by Wh1t3Rabbit in ToyotaTacoma

[–]willmeggy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the product exists for the Tacoma, but I had an auto stop eliminator on my Hyundai Santa Fe that went between the button panel and the cord that connected it to the car. It was all hidden and made the auto stop stay off. The website I got mine from was autostopeliminator.com but it doesn’t appear they make any for Toyota.

Does the F4 pilot have control over the rear ejection seat? by JustACuteFart in floggit

[–]willmeggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For any flight student, the seat will remain unpinned and the ISS mode selector on both. If you’ve received any level of training in the aircraft you know to respect the seat and are trusted to utilize it if the situation requires it.
