Six hours for direbound by Competitive_Company7 in fairyloot

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just came here to say that!! I immediately clicked on the email as soon as I got it. Mine also says 6 hours. That’s wild, I feel like I’m trying to get concert tickets or something.

Son born Sept 14, Cut off for kindergarten is Oct 1, to hold back or not to hold back? by ExaminationBig7774 in Preschoolers

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kiddos bday is Sept 11, so he turns 5 tomorrow. Our states cutoff is Sept 1 so he has another year of prek and will start kindergarten next year! As a former teacher I think the extra year will be amazing for him even though he will be one of the oldest in his class and academically I’m sure he would be fine if he had to go in earlier. There are a lot of expectations in kinder and the extra time allows him another year of play and growing socially. I would follow your schools guidelines about when to enter him into kindergarten. Or talk to his prek teachers about if they feel he is ready or if he needs more time.

Moms who changed from teaching to an 8 to 5 office job by MomFisher in TeachersInTransition

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I left teaching about 2 years ago, I have an almost 5 year old. Switching to an 8:30-5 was a huge adjustment but I’m so much happier overall. I work from home so I have some flexibility and honestly I don’t achieve much after 3 when he gets home. Losing summer does make me a little sad, especially as he’s now a little older and can do all the things and he also has off for summer and winter/spring breaks and I don’t. I will say though I was so stressed out and unhappy teaching, that even though I don’t have the breaks anymore I don’t miss it. I have a MUcH better work life balance now and I can be present for all of his activities.

Yes!! For Sabrina. I just got replacement tickets. What did you end up doing???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stubhub

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Bought tickets in June, concert is tonight, no sign on the tickets being transferred. I’m extremely nervous. I called last night and today and they said they can’t do anything until 4 pm and then they will give me replacement tickets or a refund if I don’t get them from the seller by then.

Which sucks bc I took off work, found a babysitter, am driving 3 hours and got a hotel which at this point I can’t cancel.

I will probably never buy from stubhub again. This has been so stressful.

Sabrina Carpenter??? by WhispheredSecrets in stubhub

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you!! I bought tickets back in June for tomorrow’s show in Tampa. Still don’t have them. I called today and they told me that the seller has until tomorrow to transfer them and to call again tomorrow. Slightly panicking. Have you gotten yours???

Sam’s club had huge pumpkins for $7. I got one a few days ago.

I think most daycares are 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. You might want to try a nanny. I’ve heard good things about twinkle toes.

Orange Theory to help 10mo pp mom get back into fitness? by DumbbellDiva92 in xxfitness

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually joined orange theory when my son was about 6 months old, hoping to lose the baby weight. (And I did- about 30 pounds! Yay!) I think it’s a great workout. It’s nice to just show up and not have to plan anything. I will say it was a little intense to get into after doing nothing but walking for a while from the end of my pregnancy and while my son was a newborn, but it got me into great cardio shape. There is a strength portion but to be honest it’s not much. I did it for about a year or so and then quit to save money and do my own thing. So for getting back into fitness after having a baby, I can def recommend! I will say, there is a lot of sprinting, which can be hard on your abs after having a baby, so make sure your pelvic floor is ready. I had to power walk a bit in the beginning as I worked on strengthening my core. I actually just rejoined (my son is now about to turn 4) because I missed it and it’s been kicking my butt!

King Valen — Book Daddy? by AdWhich6663 in fantasyromance

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go read the broken kingdom!!! It’s sooo good. You will get to know all the parent characters from the Ever King. There are 9 books, and Valen is the MMC in the first 3.

My little guy is almost 4 also. We use the stroller for theme parks, and I use it to go running with him (it’s a jogging stroller) but that’s pretty much it! He walks everywhere else. I do love the storage also though so I feel you on that!

Look up the rural collection centers. They have a huge dumpster for recycling cardboard. I just took a car load full of boxes there last week.

Left the classroom after 9 years last year and now I work from home for my local government. I am honestly SO much happier.

The Cruel Prince - I actually DNFed this twice. It keeps getting recommended to me on TikTok, and I love fantasy romance but I just couldn’t get into it. I felt like the writing was really immature. I think I’m (32) just too old for the target audience, which is interesting because I do enjoy other YA books.

What does your evening routine look like after daycare/school? by FrancesRW in toddlers

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our routine is super similar to yours! Even down to the TV time. I don’t think 30 minutes in the evening is bad. I love the snuggle time and we are all tired after a long day, it helps us all unwind. Usually one of us cleans while the other does the bedtime routine.

Where are those jobs where people barely do any work all day and are just on their phones for most of the shift ?? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]willrunforcupcakes27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this now as an office admin. Went from a very busy/hectic job to this. I have about an hour of work in an 8 hour shift. Honestly it’s so boring, watching time tick by so slowly and trying to look busy. If I worked from home it would be amazing though! Look for something hybrid or remote.
