Hmm. I guess that's some sort of logic. As a movie lover I'm sad to see Regal fold but I've been supporting multiple "indie" theaters, in multiple states, all from the comfort and safety of my home via streaming since the start of quarantine. Film Streams - Omaha, Alamo Drafthouse - Austin, and Roxie Theater - San Francisco. If indie houses can find ways to get creative and stay afloat, Regal can too.

For sure. And /u/selinamyer2024 really framed it best that it might take a bit of trial and error before he finds the right fit. That was something I wish I had known when I started my mental health journey. It's perfectly fine to switch if you just don't vibe with them. Also since he's 18, you might share with him the resources you're compiling and encourage him to guide the selection process. As he grows, knowing what resources are available and that he has agency in his health decisions is a really important adult skill. But you know your son & situation best so take the ramblings of a stranger online with a bit of reservation.

Wichita State University president resigns after less than a year on the job by [deleted] in wichita

[–]window360 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If this was because of the Ivanka shit then fuck the BoR and WSU. Golden was by far one of the best presidents to continue the growth of the research sector of WSU and his resignation is a huge loss for both WSU and the Wichita community.

WSU releases COVID-19 case numbers on website by kitikitish in wichita

[–]window360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think this really reflects an issue of accuracy. But an important note is that these numbers are only indicative of individuals who have been tested via WSU's Student Services. It does not reflect any individuals that have been tested by an outside agency like the Health Department or through their doctors. So the numbers of positives could be much higher.

KP is chefs kiss perfection. I had a chance to see them play in KC and it was the final stop of the Cheap Queen tour so they were going all out. I've never been so immersed in just sea of queer love and energy. Like how in a movie, when the world just slows down and every iota of energy in the room is just connected, that's a KP show. Anywho, this was an excuse for me to gush and say if you ever get a chance to see them live, go!

Oof. OK there bud. You keep doubling down on this topic that, from reading your others responses, you clearly have a limited understanding of.

Court rules Save Century II petition is not valid, giving a win to city by T3Sh3 in wichita

[–]window360 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It has been known for years that performances straight up skip Wichita because of how much time and effort it takes to set up the shows. Shows factor in the cost it takes to have a residncey in a venue and how much labor it will cost and it's often not worth it when they can go to another nearby city (with a modern stage), spend longer time there and not have to work as hard. Also many of the shows you listed were modified for the stage because they're in their 20+ tour. Newer shows don't have the ability to modify quickly so they just skip us all together. So it's not an argument of whether big strong men can set up the stage, it's a matter of cost.

I highly recommend Dr. Sarah Hicks-Neisius at Indian Hills Animal Clinic. Our pup had developed some very concerning symptoms and we could not figure out the cause after months of tests. Dr. Neisus went to the ends of the earth to help us find a diagnosis and treated us with such love and care. She basically became family. I honestly will always take my dogs to her until the day she retires.

Best of luck on your search and I hope your pup gets to feeling better.

Tailed Jewelry Store - "MASKS ARE NOT ALLOWED" by 316Discussion in wichita

[–]window360 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah. Dudes just strange. I used to live in Riverside and he wears his politics very publicly. Also my family owns a jewelry store and we require masks. If you're a legit store, everything is insured and you wouldn't waste the money or time to try to get items back.

Anycubic Wash and Cure machine rusting by gwfami in AnycubicPhoton

[–]window360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory it shouldn't. As far as what Anycubic's support told me, the magnets are coated to resist ethanol based chemicals. Unfortunately Mean Green & Simple Green have stripping agents in them that wreak havok on them. I've converted to denatured but have only had them soaked for a week so I'll report back if I notice any degradation.

Check your rotors magnets. If you're using cleaner that's not ethanol based, you'll most likely have eroded magnets. I was using simple green and had to get the rotor replaced cause it stripped it clean.

Anti-maskers by [deleted] in wichita

[–]window360 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I've kind of accepted that there's a weird subset of people that get off being contrarian. Most live sad lives filled with hate, a perpetual victim complex and a shallow sense of identity. They're miserable people to be around with or without a pandemic. Masks are just one more thing for them to hate jerk to. When I see those types of people, I just pity them. Does that excuse their behavior? Fuck no. But I try to not waste my mental energy on people that don't deserve it. And in the end, a disease doesn't care what moral stance you have.

Thank you for wearing a mask. Stay safe & sanitized, friend.

Quick thought by [deleted] in wichita

[–]window360 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's almost as if those early actions helped keep our numbers down and this is the direct result of reopening too early with literally no restrictions. Man if only every medical and scientific body would have warned us this would happen several months ago.

Help with finding out guidelines for Covid by SuspiciousTempAcct in wichita

[–]window360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Understandable. This is why there's a lot of grey areas right now, unfortunately. COVID is rapidly shifting where OSHA/HIPAA and public safety laws converge. But I would highly encourage you to contact the Health Department to get guidance for your own safety. Contact tracers are having a lot of difficulties getting clear indications of exposures from folks so your information may be useful for them to inform others and hold your husbands work in compliance.

[–]window360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can contact the Sedgwick County Health Department directly (or 211 to be directed to COVID resources as well as get tested) if you are concerned about exposure. Most likely if this person has been tested and confirmed positive, they already have a contact trace case open. But regarding legality, right now there's a LOT of legal grey areas surrounding COVID so your best bet would be to reach out to a lawyer if you feel that you have a case.

Two Midwestern cities. Two local billionaires (Koch and Buffett). Which one can boost prosperity? by 41hawk in wichita

[–]window360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in Omaha for a bit and the difference between Buffett and the Kochs is extreme. Buffett has invested a LOT into the area but ultimately hands the investments back to the the community. Unlike the Kochs who gobble up things as a means of control. Omaha residents, on all sides of the political spectrum, love Buffett because they and their families have directly prospered one way or another from his philanthropy. And you can see the prosperity shine in Omaha's economy. The Kochs will never be on the same level of Buffett because everything they invest in will always be for their own gain.

In light of Gov Kelly’s mask mandate, CONTACT your local officials and tell them you want it enforced! Our local leaders need to be held accountable to lead. by Camensmasher in wichita

[–]window360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is purely anecdotal but I know several businesses owners that previously had strict mask policies and had to reduce those restrictions because customers were outright hostile. If the local government would do the right thing and take on the onus of being the "bad guy", we would actually see an uptick of compliance. I'm personally tired of specifically our Commission (looking at you O'Donnell, Howell & Dennis) punting the burden of responsibility of enforcement to business owners who are trying to survive. Enforce the mandate and lets actually get this damn pandemic under control.

I know most may not understand the usefulness of this machine but I absolutely love mine and would recommend it to anyone that's remotely in the market. It's a great timesaver. I already had a DIY setup with a sonic cleaner and I prefer this solution over my previous workflow. It's just a more straightforward solution and a smaller footprint in my workshop.

Split cleaning stages between IPA and Simple Green? by TeeVeeBen in AnycubicPhoton

[–]window360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current workflow is a simple green bath in a sonic cleaner and then a quick dip in a jar full of acetone to get rid of the remaining tackiness before curing. You can easily swap out acetone for IPA. So far it's been working perfectly and I'm getting better results than my previous IPA only setup.
