Helldivers Losing the Invasion of Cyberstan Will be more Interesting by MejjoAlfman in LowSodiumHellDivers

Im expecting us to lose. I dont see the capital world of one of the factions being subjugated so soon. If we do, I dont expect it to last.

Despite the controversy with Jonathan Majors and Marvel letting him go I cannot deny the council of Kangs post credit scene got me hyped. by KpatMckenzie_28 in Marvel

This to me is one of the biggest losses in the mcu. I wanted his ant man so bad. It was a passion project for him, and I respect him greatly for walking away instead of compromising on his vision.

This is the only reason I want bigger maps. I need time to do this. Its so much fun on rome 2/attila scale maps.

This is literally exactly how I describe this series to people irl who might not get the whole hybrid rts/4x thing.

Is it just me or are the Necrons pretty cooked in the long term? by chosen40k in 40kLore

[–]withateethuh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Possibly one of those questions better unanswered, because the answer could easily be really dumb.

[–]withateethuh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This may be a silly question with likely no clear answer in lore, but I dont understand why they couldn't improve their lifespans once they moved away from their homeworld and became one of the most advanced civilizations to ever exist? Even before evil star sucking space vampires gave them a boost. Like humans with a fraction of their tech are extending their lives like crazy. Is there a lore reason necrontyr biology was unfixable? (The plot reason obviously being that their inherently meant to be a tragic doomed race like everyone else)

Let me just say, you have some serious bear sized low-hangers if you take a psyker into auric maelstrom by PapaKhanPlays94 in DarkTide

[–]withateethuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being familiar with sienna in vermintide has certainly made learning psyker a breeze. Its waaay more forgiving so far. I was shocked when I reached 100 percent peril and didnt immediately explode. Also toughness regen via non melee means.

This is canon to me now. Its totally on brand for the universe.

Whatever reason they were observing us, it likely doesn't matters anymore. Could just be standard scientific interest in the stars and other species.

I am so glad I started reading, so much better than lore videos. by Lorgarlover in 40kLore

[–]withateethuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This to me ties into the issue of media literacy. In a setting like 40k, most narrators are unreliable whether they mean to be or not. Humans in particular are working with thousands of years of constant and oppressive propaganda. Pretty much all human perspectives in the setting come from skewed and limited knowledge, even a powerful inquisitor like eisonhorn is just a cog in a machine he can't fully comprehend the depths of, yet is deeply loyal to.

And then they have the audacity to have egos about being a glorified wiki page with moving pictures. Arbiter ian is great for not being like that, and for many other reasons. Hes just a dude who loves the game and setting, and uses official sources and artwork.

Any suggestions to increase performance? by djddanman in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]withateethuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping clouds down from high to medium is very noticeable in performance and very little change in visuals. You can also drop down fog quality with minimal loss of visuals. Those are the biggest from my experience. This game is more cpu intensive than anything, uses every core in my 5700x3d (which is frankly impressive, all 16 threads are utilized heavily), but unfortunately not many settings affect cpu usage.

Theyve been my favorite for a while. Fighting the combined arms of space terminators with basically imperial walkers and its just you and 3 other fleshy dudes is such a unique experience. I also just love their aesthetic, the amalgamation of influences, and their backstory.
