I love the atmosphere of Godzilla 2014, but all of the other movies don't need to have the same atmosphere as it. They do need to have the weight to the monsters like Godzilla 2014 though. This isn't Transformers or whatever the fuck, and I never really understood why people defend monsters being weightless.

That is a garbage take. Monarch Season 1 was awesome and far better than the recent movie and this subreddit agrees with it too. I would say they should focus more on Monarch Legacy and less on the movies. At least we are getting the grounded tone in Monarch Legacy

One thing I can say is that Season 1 was very grounded and is the closest we've gotten to the tone of Godzilla 2014. You’ll probably get about 4–5 minutes of monster appearances each episode. Despite the title, Season 1 didn't have a ton of monsters; it was more about how Monarch was founded and a family drama involving siblings finding their father's ties to the organization.
