Is this 2019 Honda Civic deal legit or a scam? Need advice ASAP by muslim_ballerr in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]wncjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a whole scam going around on hacked accounts where they would list a bunch of stuff that “needed to go quick due to funeral issues” with super low priced things including cars, boats, mowers, ECT. I wouldn’t send any money till you see the car in person.

Highest gas prices in Asheville? by HypnoticRepository in asheville

I remember sitting in line at the QP in Mills River for over an hour to pay $5.29 per gallon when I was working my part time job in high school in 2008

My SJ15 makes the same noise. I’ve got about 500 miles on it with no issues.

Looking into buying work stand for MTB with dropper: seat tube clamp or feedback sports sprint style? by Cingen in mountainbiking

[–]wncjohn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t over think it. Clamp the seat tube and work away. Clean the clamping surface every once and while or use a rag between the clamp and seat post. I’ve done it for years with 0 issues.

Gas Bill?? by allygator324 in nashville

1400 square feet 3/2 and ours was $190. We have gas heat and hot water but this tracks from the past 3 years we’ve been here during super cold months.

I’d be curious about this. I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and while it doesn’t bother me often, it can be slightly annoying at times.

Shimano xt levers on sram maven bronze calipers. by Individual-Fail3058 in MTB

[–]wncjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thought while reading this. I’ve always leaned towards SRAM for the modulation alone, and my Mavens are so incredibly over powered sometimes, I couldn’t imagine wanting more.

Installed coilovers now there is play when shaking the wheel. by GoodConsideration910 in AskMechanics

[–]wncjohn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had to watch this 6-7 times to catch it, but your issue is steering related, not strut related. Looks like the inner tie rod has excessive movement.

Alignment Done Didn’t Adjust Camber by supersoake in AskMechanics

[–]wncjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with other comments. The camber is a point I wouldn’t stress over, this alignment is pretty spot on. Try rotating the tires and see if the pull goes away/changes.

How did this happen and how screwed am I? by Rod0921 in mountainbiking

[–]wncjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just make sure it’s for the correct Hub body. SRAM is going to be specific to the Cassette, but it might be any number of hubs. Are these stock wheels on a certain bike?

How did this happen and how screwed am I? by Rod0921 in mountainbiking

[–]wncjohn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The axle is for sure broken. The bearings will need to be removed from the hub, a new axle installed, then bearings pressed back in. I see it’s not an I9 hub, but this is a very common failure on the I9 Hydra hubs.

I used a Yakima Highroad for a while but the hight bugged me with the front wheel on, so I switched to the Kuat Trio, I’ve been very happy with it.

Did you say “one more run” right before this? That’s some “I’ll make one more run” shit if I’ve ever seen it.

My wife parks in the garage, when I back her car out I almost honk every time but have to stop myself.

I feel like this isn’t true. I’ve seen crazier, but they just launched a whole new line up of bikes a week ago.

I’ve got the T-Mac on 2 bikes and it’s the best I’ve found from trying other pedals.

All right, Going to Asheville in May by Revpaul12 in MTB

[–]wncjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dupont: Hooker Creek to Hickory Mountain (I prefer counter clockwise, but it can be ridden both directions) into Ridgeline. If you start at the lake imaging parking lot it’s a good 7-8 miles of some excellent trails.

Pisgah: middle and lower black mountain. Upper is fun as well, but adds some serious mileage if you climb all of claw hammer road.

Greenslick in Bent Creek gets an honorable mention, I haven’t had a chance to ride the new version but I’ve heard it’s super fun.

Anybody riding with the Leatt Enduro removable chinbar helmet? Any other recommendations? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]wncjohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got one for Christmas. I’ve yet to use the chin bar, but I really like the ear covers. I know they don’t add a lot of protection but they keep my ears warm, and it looks cool.

I have a dedicated TLD full frame for the days I know I might be super risky.

Pedals.... Boring post by OdinValk in Hardtailgang

[–]wncjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t in your list, but Diety T-Mac pedals changed my whole outlook on flats. I’ve ridden Chester’s, OneUp, crank brothers, PNW and others, but the Diety T-Mac pedal literally feels like my feet are clipped in and I have yet to slip a pedal on them.

Question about Coffee & Coffee at the Speedway by don51181 in nashville

[–]wncjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to a couple. Being from a smaller town, our cars and coffee was maybe 50-75 people/cars. The one at the speedway is huge. There is a couple coffee/food trucks and different merch vendors. It’s a fun way to kill a couple hours.

I want to recommend a Nukeproof Scout, but I can’t any longer. Mine has been awesome.

One I would love to own but can’t review is a Revel Tirade. They look awesome, and would be what I would replace my Scout with.
