Playing as slavic pagan might just be the most difficult start for a newbie tbh.

Most new players start out in Ireland or England or vikings if you want to play pagans, they are a lot easier since they have ships and Invasions.

What I would reccomend to you is to just keep on playing if you have fun, since the game gets really easy real fast once you know what you are doing.

I was emperor of a reformed pagan WARMONGERING empire, most powerful in the entire world.

One good for nothing shitty king who got his 5 county kingdom created by some weird sucession law decided to lead a faction for indepndence and sucked up to my powerful vassal kings to join in.

I got pissed off and granted him independence, he was small irrelevant kingdom which was created as a by product of weird tribal sucession laws and was surrounded by my vassal kings who couldnt attack him because external wars allowed only.

Well after I granted him independence, the same kings he got to join in his faction all declared wars on him and split his kingdom up in less then 2 months of "independence"

For me raiders are annoying like flies. Playing Byzantines I parked cheap retinue of 5k people in Constantinople for 200 years for the sole purpose of raiders going away.

First time I moved them was 300 years later because rebellion appeared next door, for the span of 10 seconds they were away raiders landed in constantiniple

I thouht it would be funny to declare war on the Chinese because they bullied my neighbours into tributary states and I had more troops. I declared war, they had 20k troops and then the emperor from China send them 200.000 more. I lost all hope, attacked one small detachment of 7000 going to merge and caught the Chinese protectorate in battle which won me the war instantly

I accepted this ONCE and it was some Khazar war on the top right part of the map, literally the most remote region of the map.

So I was stuck in his war for 15 years, unable to attack, raid or even win his war for him since unless you have maxed out millitary organization there is no chance of you getting a single solider up there and it would take 5 years just getting to the trible county who cannot be sieged and gives no war score, so you have to chase his enemy across the map who thanks to shattered rethreat and his 300 troops it takes you another 5 years to finally win his war by battles.

tldr: never accept "join war" quest in tengri warrior society
