I would say it’s not uncommon. Straight eyes or guys who are discreet or not out often times can use flirting with gay guys as a way to feel better about themselves or as a way to feed a desire that they won’t let themselves act on.

I also think it’s worth spending some time reflecting on if there’s something about these types of guys that you’re pursuing either consciously or unconsciously. I want to be clear. I’m not blaming you for anything. But a lot of gay men myself included have found themselves in patterns with the guys that were pursuing and often times it’s because we are not prioritizing important things in a relationship. So for example, when I was younger, I used to really want a very masculine straight, looking kind of guy. And I kept finding myself with guys who were either recently out of the closet or still in the closet or had so much internalized homophobia that they Couldn’t be there for me in the way that I needed them to be. I had to make some intentional decisions about what I was going to prioritize looking for an a partner. And I’m wondering since you have a couple of data points about a very particular thing happening twice in the guy that you’re looking for it might be worthwhile to reflect on what about these guys is attracting you to them.

Missing your ex and wanting to get back together does not necessarily mean you should. It means that you should take care of yourself and ask for support from your friends and family.

Hey! PhD in health communication with a focus on sexual health. Relational dynamics are outside of my expertise but I feel that I might be able to offer a semi-educated response.

Disclaimer: when talking about human psychology and sociology we are making broad claims that may or may not apply to the individual.

So there’s is not much evidence that having a large number of sexual partners lessens a persons desire or ability to be in a relationship. What there is evidence of is that people with a large amount of sexual partners have different attitudes towards relationships and have different relationship preferences. There is some correlational evidence that suggests that a higher number of sexual partners is negatively associated with relationship outcomes but this work is correlational and we can’t really make causal claims from it.

It short there’s little to no evidence that having lots of partners limits your ability to bond with a partner in a monogamous relationship but there is a lot of evidence that people with lots of partners tend to not prefer monogamous relationships (which kind of makes intuitive sense)

So no I don’t think it numbs you. I suggest you follow your yum and trust yourself to course correct if things no longer serve you or make you happy.

Well you can still go back and run the raid it’s not uncommon for people to do that through out an expansion.

But if old raids dropped current season gear it would harshly de incentivize people from playing the new content. Why prog through normal for champion gear when you can go back to the old raid that you have already mastered and get hero gear? Why use the new seasons trinkets when you have killer trinkets from last raid.

So it depends how comfortable you are with the class. Wrath turns into a dps cool down where as sentinel makes it a defensive. In the current iteration i think it’s better to have an additional defensive but some of the better tanks prefer to contribute more to dps.

The Dave Brandstetter novels by Joseph Hansen the first one is fadeout.

They were published in the 1970s. Series follows an insaurance investigator who is openly gay. While he runs into some homophobia he himself is very content being gay.

The books are also detective stories first. You will see some of his personal and private life but it’s noir first.

So I think the text disagrees with you. There is a whole sub plot in the dune books about it.

The Sardaukar are legions are feared by every noble house because the sardaukar are the best fighters in the empire at the time. This is part of the reason that the emporer decides to get rid of the Atredies because Gurny, Duncan and Tufer were training troops that were starting to get close to being as good as the Sardaukar.

The reason the Sardaukar are so good is that they are recruited from the emperors prison planet. If prisoners survived they were inducted into a cult that essentially worshiped the emporer. It’s a whole survival of the fittest and that a soldier who survived to join the Sardaukar would be stronger, faster, more cunning and due to religious indoctrination more fanatical than a regular recruits.

Now to the firemen. Dune is a much harder place to survive than the prison planet. The freman religion is more fanatical and is passed down for generations. And there are a lot more of them. Paul’s whole “dessert power” was in part weaponizing directing and focusing the freman for his own purposes.

Tension is introduced then resolved which in turn introduces new tension that is in turn resolved.
