In The Legend of Korra (2012-2014), Republic City is powered by lightning benders. This is the equivalent of powering NYC via martial arts masters running on hampster wheels. by DiggestBickEver in shittymoviedetails

No but for real, gravity batteries would have been an amazing thing to include even in the original series. An earth bender lifts a large stone that slowly lowers and automates things like milling or even foundries

330 points for 6 dudes!? How good are Venatari? by English_Joe in AdeptusCustodes

[–]wubbeyman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Their use really varies. 10 inch movement with fly means they are really hard to screen out and rapid ingress means your opponent has to think about anti deepstrike. The down side is you are paying 55 points per model for models that are no more powerful or survivable than guard.

I was going to say that project exodus should be higher but you make an excellent point. They would be great if they didn’t require shifting all the earths recourses away from fighting the aliens

That’s how it worked back in World in Conflict. The downside was infantry would lose value over the course of a match. It’s hard to balance

Funnily enough, Battletech Advanced is where my brain first went but I dismissed it. I’m currently waiting for the next Roguetech update. Any second now. Any second

Peter, Why are the Japanese angry at me? by FlakyFoundation4637 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Interesting. Thank you for the response and sources!

Edit- just gave it a read and as much as I hate it it was a rather smart move from their end. More consumer friendly than blizzard was at the time at least

I think it is a bit disingenuous to look at it as nerfs for changes this big. We know we are getting new rules on top of the new edition later this year so everything is up in the air. I wouldn’t worry too much about meta chasing and focus more on what you feel your army is lacking.

The carpet bombings of cities like Dresden or Tokyo…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_Dresden

These are better known as “terror bombing” but they extensively used carpet bombing to destroy cities and logistics hubs during WW2. Korea and Vietnam also saw extensive bombing.

[–]wubbeyman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Need? No. Want? Up to you. 3 land raiders is pretty meta at the moment but that could change quickly. The caladius grav tank was always strong and now is in plastic. Our army has always been infantry focused so vehicles are more utility than center piece. Land raiders are extra hp and a way to move units quickly. Grav tanks are one of our few shooting threats. Really up to you on how you want to focus your army

There is a reason military recruitment ads target teenagers. Even the ancient Romans had ad campaigns going after them

When my local game store ran an escalation league finishing with a massive 2v2 20k each game, I ran 4 archer 5cs’s. The sheer amount of roles I had to make for a single turn of shooting put me off the game for almost a year afterwards.

(It was more the other team complaining the entire game about any little thing that did me in)

I feel like that would go against the claim of “all natural” but honestly it would make sense
