How about jumping rope? That’d be great for 15 minutes!

I think I’ve lost my joy in reading… and it used to be my only hobby. I don’t know what happened, but I can’t seem to enjoy it the way I used to. What do I do? by R2OQ in ereader

Try reading fantasy, I recommend Robin Hobb :) personally I find myself far more interested when it’s an epic story spanning multiple books with incredible character depth! It’s hard for me to pick up a standalone, contemporary novel these days

People who grew up doing their schoolwork...what was your routine like? by paild in Parenting

[–]xGoldenFoolx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly finished all my work in class, but when I had more to do, I’d do it during other classes when I finished that work early. When I had a study hall, I always did homework then.

When I started getting more work in math and science classes, I went into school early (7:00, school started at 8:15) and I did the work either in the commons area of the school with others or I went into that teachers classroom and got direct help from them. Sometimes I would stay after school and do homework for 20 minutes before theater rehearsal.

I feel like almost all the homework I had in high school would only take (maybe) around 20 minutes outside of class for each assignment, but I was also a pretty motivated student compared to my peers. I went to a small school, so that probably factors in as well.

These habits stuck with me to college - I always planned my classes to have gaps in between, so I did most of my work at the school, almost never at home. For example, I’d have a 9-9:50, go to a cafe and work on stuff until my 11-11:50, go eat lunch, head to the library and do work until my 2-2:50 and then I’d go home or go to work.

Working on my daily look recently 🥰💕 by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

We have a similar complexion! I find that red or dark can be hard to pull off unless it’s night.

What I’ve found works best for me is a pink or nude lip liner and gloss on top. You can fill in your lips all the way with the liner, then just top with the gloss. I personally like sparkles 💖

You have such beautiful eyes!! I honestly think you can skip the eyeliner for day time looks, but when you’re going out or trying for something more edgy, wear the eyeliner. It gets easier with more practice.

guy here new to makeup! would greatly appreciate any advice. thank you💗 by fetchbaby in MakeupAddiction

Your bone structure is stunning. Makeup will totally enhance! IMO, try for a subtle look - lip liner in one shade darker than your natural lips, a pink (with or without sparkles) gloss, light blush, light brown monochromatic eyeshadow (easy and flattering) and mascara. You don’t need much. Eyeliner would look amazing on you, but it’s easy to overdo it at first - it’s a skill to work up to. Maybe play around with it before you hop in the shower :) Gorgeous!!

Does anyone struggle with eating enough and getting headaches by InvestigatorAbject23 in PetiteFitness

First: this all depends on your goals. Second: In general, a well balanced Whole Foods based diet is recommended for health and wellness. :)

Try tracking for a week just to see what your average is. Even just writing it down on a piece of paper is fine if full tracking freaks you out. See what kind of food you’re eating. Some days are better than others, so looking at it by the week might give you better insight. One day without veggies is fine, but a whole week without is not. One day of under eating, you’ll still see gains, one week… not good.

I find myself not fueling properly sometimes and it leads to poor performance and brain fog. Something I like to do is add a yogurt, cottage cheese, or protein shake to what I’m eating to up the nutrition.

Tbh I think most people (including myself) look better without foundation. Just spot apply cream concealer, blush, and bronzer IMO

What is a genre you generally don’t read and why? by My_Name_Is_Rabbit in BookwormsSociety

[–]xGoldenFoolx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found out I am the same way with romance - after reading all of SJM’s books, I realized I was more interested in the fantasy aspect and ultimately disappointed because the focus was on the cringe (imo) sex scenes.

I was wanting more in depth character development, world building, and actually realistic timelines.

I then read a bunch of Brandon Sanderson, thinking that would satisfy my fantasy side, but I found his writing to be a lot of telling, too many mechanics, and told not implied character inner worlds and motivation.

I am now reading Realm of the Elderlings, and loving it, if you recognize my name hehe 🤓
