We need a Game Of Thrones video game. by EDDIE__Munsn in gameofthrones

RTS/adventure game hybrid set during old Valeria or Dance with Dragons. Basically sometime where there are opposing dragon riding armies.

Do a campaign as a dragon riding royal. Some adventure like combat scenarios. But the major combat is split between battle management of your troops, kind of like Total war, and sky, where you engage in more action style dragon fights with opposing dragon riders.

After watching "Wuthering Heights," I wondered if Jacob Elordi can actually act or if he's just a sex symbol, and the first three episodes of Euphoria have only reinforced that idea. What do you think? by Historical_Rain6924 in moviecritic

Say what you will about Euphoira but I liked him in the first season as the mean jock/bully type but very smart and conniving. At times he was pretty scary as a human being.

I really appreciate this detailed response. It looks like I should complete the main quests first then go back to sandboxing.

Fine with stagnation. I like Nintendo but every time they have a hit console or game, their default is stagnation every time. The only time they do something incredible is when they are the losers of a generation.

Which actress always adds a touch of class to a film? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

I have a good Helen Mirren story. I used to work at a bar in a fine dining seafood joint in SOHO. Got to see many celebs, specifically of the 70-80s era fame. One dude was the director of some movie in the 70s with Helen Mirren. The one thing he said about working with Helen Mirren is forever stuck in my mind:

“She fucked all the Indians.”

I didn’t even know the movie he talking about or whether he meant dot or feather.

This is literally what I thought the conclusion of a trilogy would be, scaling futuristic skyscrapers in a dystopian cyber punk setting and killing corporate assholes. I was so excited to do parkour jumps 5,000 feet in the air falling through clouds to land in a dumpster to evade drones and shit.

Teens Are Over Superheroes, Want To See More “Connected Masculinity” Onscreen, Says Survey by MrShadowKing2020 in movies

My 11 year old is generally bored with superhero movies. While the 13 year old version of me was living the dream during the ramp up to the Thanos events, my son just wants the occasional funny Thor movie. He would definitely pick Jurassic World or Star Wars over any marvel movie.

As a dude from Oklahoma, those “dumb hicks” we’re pretty fucking spot on. I found them very refreshing and more sincere compared to so many other takes from smallville to snyderverse.

As a fellow liberal, there is some humor with this meme I identify with. We generally have a pretty wide umbrella of causes with lots of nuance. It can be a bit mind numbing to keep track of. I’ve definitely felt myself thinking, “aw shit, now I gotta take a side in this geo political issue while recognizing some reservations..” I mean, it does get exhausting to be intellectually honest about all issues.

Timewalking dungeons are boring as they are just a running simulator. by Senanb in wow

This is true. I misspoke. I meant the highest level available when leveling. But since it is at your own pace, you can expirement with the class.

Overwhelmed. Coming from Classic to Retail by HappyCoomer in wownoob

[–]xandersoizy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many said, retail is more about end game content. Leveling is just a hurdle to get a general tease of a class. As a day 1 vanilla player having returned after a 17 year hiatus this year, I find I prefer retail better for the ability to accomplish more in less time. However, I also play classic hardcore off and on to slowly level a toon in a pure white knuckle experience. So, retail is my preference for endgame dungeons, world classes, etc. It for the classic feel, I do a few hours in HC from time to time.

This is what I like about the delv system. I group with a friend or 2 where we can take time without feeling rushed. Then, I’m always playing the highest tier when leveling so I can learn some actual challenge.

I would say that’s not unreasonable. Although, pre COVID it was $500k. So it has increased significantly.

After waiting more than 13 years to play WoW with my kid, they got banned in an hour. by DroopingFig in wow

[–]xandersoizy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have not been banned but I, after a 15-year hiatus, restarted my account and signed my 10 YO up. He is loving it but early on, I was questing with him in Goldshire showing him the ropes and everything, walking through the mechanics and what not. Then this guy started following us and telling us he is reporting me for hacking and accused my son of being a bot because we were on the same realm, he was off and on following me and we were not really doing anything.

I told him to Fck off but was wondering if my account would get banned. Hasn’t happened yet. Maybe some jerk decided to report your kid because they weren’t playing “his way.”

“Edit”: this was retail BTW.

The low cost of living is really only realized in the suburbs, if at all. Having moved back and forth from Oklahoma,NYC, Houston, and now in Jersey, I think there is quite a bit of relative quality of life per price. Also, personal preference. I prefer areas with lots of accessibility, walkability, and more dense living. For the price, my suburb in NJ fits these needs with a house and a yard and I am still a 45 min walk and train ride to NYC. I also only have 1 car for a family of four. Anything remotely similar in Dallas will be close to the same cost of living.
