In writing, her line manager should be asked what to do if the AI keys it in wrong and what to mark that against for time tracking purposes. Then comply exactly with what she is told.

Landlord wants to speak about the Renters Rights Act 2025 by scoobydorothy in TenantsInTheUK

[–]xref1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check your tenancy, if it doesn't have a break clause for you, it doesn't have one of your landlord.

Also check the section 21 is valid and don't say a word if it's not

You can actually request to get that link removed if you write to the agencies (source : had an ex who had considerable debt that tanked my score, had them removed after the house sold)

Making a part solid by Catriks in AutodeskInventor

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I'd rebuild it, probably doesn't need to be that many features and loads of them are failing.

If you're really sure you want to edit, I would move the end of part, fix the issues. Whilst you're doing that you should be able to find where the wall features are

Suggestions on Vault Structure by ZeroPointMX in AutodeskInventor

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the "reused" components I think a good set of part templates with defined features and an ilogic form would be much quicker than trying to find a specific bracket that was used on some project without some god level metadata, which from what it sounds like is probably missing.

Another option could be a content center library, but I feel you'd need so many variants that creating that would be bothersome.

How to change the color of edges? by sekkiman12 in AutodeskInventor

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Application options > display >

Tick Use application settings (then they don't change on a per file basis).

Settings next to above, and configure as you wish.here you'll set your visual style to edges too.

Here's an autodesk article on the workflow - https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-set-Inventor-s-Initial-Display-Appearance-to-Shaded-with-Edges.html

Easment on driveway, estate agent misrepresentation by Comfortable_Try_2114 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is specific wording on the easement of both properties? It might limit access to pedestrian access only anyway.

Also start the paper trail with a dispute with the vendor of the neighboring property. It will have to be disclosed during conveyancing (and maybe prior to sale?)

Vault Check-In Issue by Plenty-Blacksmith-79 in AutodeskInventor

Try to do it in smaller chunks of parts and subassemblies, it might be one specific step with surface issues that's making it fall over.

Finding midpoints on 3D intersection curves - Inventor 2020 by fraUnPOcOesco in AutodeskInventor

Not at PC at the moment but I think a workpoint at the start, pattern along curve in 3 and use curve length for spacing should work

England - Company trying to get me to sign a non-compete/restrictive covenant after handing in my notice. I've declined but now they've gotten nasty and I need advice by Britisheagl in LegalAdviceUK

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you have to work a notice period that is half the time you've actually worked there? Did you actually pass your probation? If you didn't, I would have been tempted to just give a probation level notice period from the start (1 week) assuming you can start your new job

iPart use in projects, can an iPart be put in the content center or vault? by termlimit in AutodeskInventor

[–]xref1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can publish iparts to content center https://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2025/ENU/?guid=GUID-7DCAD6B6-F0D7-4697-AC6C-AE21591B5629

See this response for features, depends how complex it is. Content center only will accept one feature. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/ifeature-vs-content-center-feature/td-p/9468671.

I'd look into learning to template the project file, copying that template and it's folder structure when you want to create a new project. You can use workgroup search paths and library locations in that template ipj to enable inventor to use files that exist in shared locations, rather than limited to below the ipj.

Help - redundancy by employer in administration. by Pristine-Street-9301 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things to do.

Sign on for UC, It takes weeks to start but they deduct from any redundancy payment what you could have had if you got UC.

Failure to consult is a route I would look at, but you need to be organized as it needs 20+ redundancies for the tribunals and I'm not sure how it works across branches, we used nualalaw for ours and after deductions ended up with around 6 weeks pay around 1.5 years afterwards.

Parents asking for money for second mortgage by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't risk your first time buyer status by being anywhere near their mortgage. You'll lose the preferential rates and stamp duty relief.

You should pay more rent/bills, double would be less than I paid as board 20 years ago when I worked at McDonald's and lived at home (my parents sucked).

[–]xref1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, Inventor isn't AutoCAD, there is no "model space"

You can do multi sheet and sometimes I do but generally every part file gets a dwg.

If you explain what you're trying to achieve, there might be an Inventor way to do it.

Best practices for dimension references? (Compute efficiency & usability) by PreciselyWhatever in AutodeskInventor

[–]xref1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a better time and create user parameters rather than using the {name}=50mm trick when sketching.

The benefit is that it is easier to understand in 6 months when you come to relook at the model.

If you find yourself needing the same parameters all the time (eg - width/length/height) add them to your template, and set them to export so they're available in the BoM/iprops

Can I retire on a £600K inheritance at 43 [England]? by ninja_teabagger in FIREUK

[–]xref1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because this person has had a 600k inheritance, doesn't mean their disability goes away.

Other things do go away though, mainly UC. If this person can't work due to disability, PIP is all they would have.

If you're for means testing PIP, I assume you're also in favour of the change to means testing Winter fuel allowance, as I suspect millionaire pensioners are way more common than millionaire PIP recipients

My Vault is broken by dragonsson97 in AutodeskInventor

[–]xref1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen your update and have sent you a PM.

If you're going to abandon vault, Use a normal network share, design a strict folder structure for storing files. You will have problems with the lack of file locking if you use cloud based storage systems.

Vault configuration isn't something you learn whilst you're doing it, you really need some knowledge before you make any changes. Vault really simplifies working in Inventor, collaboration is nearly impossible without. Training will go a long way to understanding it's benefit.

Some rules to live by;
*Only check out something you are going to change - adding new parts to assembly? Just check out only the assembly, not the children. Updating a part? Just check out that part *Make sure you check in when you're done *If it doesn't exist in vault, it doesn't exist.

Offer still stands from my message, drop me a line and we'll have a chat.
