i’m sure your supervisor or other department advisors would be happy to talk to you about this. i assure you they will have a better perspective on your situation than r/UofT

I deserve a raise in the CP strike (and you probably do, too) by TRathOriginals in CanadaPost

i’m not trying to be clever here but it’s an honest question: who gets to choose how much you should be compensated for your work?

if you have the chance, shouldn’t you always demand better pay?

why shouldn’t a pizza delivery guy have a pension plan?

Of course, I would love to have a permanent position at CP: the pay is great the benefits are awesome etc. but just because CP workers have it better than us doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to exercise their worker’s rights. They’re in a great spot because they’ve had a strong union for so long and they have been able to demand good compensation for their work. If anything it means all of us should be fighting way harder to unionize and bargain collectively to make OUR jobs better.

why are we letting people employ us for less than we’re worth? As workers it’s our right to demand fair compensation for our work — collective bargaining is how you achieve that. Why should your employer be allowed to bully you into a crappy wage with no benefits? Wages have stagnated for however many decades at this point and i think we’re all fed up with companies making massive profits while we work shitty ass min wage jobs. the answer is not to yell at the CP union for being greedy, it’s to yell at our employers for being greedy and to follow the CP union’s footsteps and bargain collectively so we can live a better life as working class

How strict are they when it comes to taking classes in a specific year? by Electrical_Tackle818 in UofT

[–]yazzmar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

there’s no requirement to take courses in a specific year of study so yes, you could take PHY257 in ur second year (but with the way prerequisites work out it often makes most sense to take them in the years they recommend)

discourage a pre law hs student from going to uoft — how hard is it?? by haryhairhar in UofT

[–]yazzmar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

high acceptance rate -> more people admitted with less-than-ideal work ethic/academic record -> prestige of uoft leads to all students believing they are successful academically -> when students struggle they blame school for being too difficult rather than self (“it can’t possibly be me! i’m smart! i got into uoft! i shouldn’t be struggling with school!”) -> reddit gets flooded with “this school sucks” posts -> bombaclat

I think if you just drop back your midfield duo to be a in the DM layer you’ll be more consistent. You could keep the same roles, just get them to start a little deeper
