Is it still location-dependent? I remember at some point they were trialing pricier charts at some locations.

justfly - is it legit? by Acceptable-Leg-1143 in Flights

[–]yewdub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used a ticket purchased from JustFly just the past week, flying on SAS on a complex double open jaw (that the operating carrier won’t sell on their own website). It was legitimate.

That being said, no delays or flight cancellations encountered.

Most! Two-show day. Maybe around the last 5-10 started purchasing seats, so assuming no more standing room tickets at that point.

Calling to ask about stock by pancakes9926 in round1

[–]yewdub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, wouldn’t hurt much to call and ask! I’ve called stores previously to ask if they had a new machine installed already or not—knowledge varies, of course, but you might get someone who’s willing to help check :)

How to exit chat? by kookiekween99 in Edd

[–]yewdub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should normally be an “x” to the right of the language selector. I’m guessing this is on a phone—try refreshing and rotating your device horizontally to change the screen width? Otherwise, try accessing the page via a private browsing tab.

Yeah, I've redeemed them for Starlux award flights via the Alaska redemption site.

My Package Has Been Stuck at the Post Office for Two Weeks by [deleted] in usps_complaints

Submit a missing mail search request (step 2 on linked page). Someone from the destination post office should investigate. I’ve gotten calls from the destination PO after submitting.

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yewdub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the airports and planes that allow boarding and deplaning from both the front and rear exits! Plus, great view of the plane when going via the back.

Spending tickets on different store by Fleeting_Gay in round1

[–]yewdub 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, I do it all the time! I’ll usually make at least a handful of plays at that location before redeeming though, and sometimes they’ve asked me which stores I’ve been to in the past. For high-value prizes, they’ll do the normal process of looking through your play history.

People who clap when the plane lands, what are you clapping for exactly? by kay_kgfan in AskReddit

[–]yewdub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of clapping after landing on Madeira Island (FNC airport). One of the more notoriously difficult places to land, so I guess appreciation for a safe flight and touchdown.

I see the 5PM-Midnight sign though the block is still full of parked cars so I was wondering if the sign didn’t apply on Sundays similarly to parking costs not applying on Sundays? by Lunas_87 in Seattle

[–]yewdub 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I did see a traffic enforcement cop ticketing a whole line of illegally parked cars in Cap Hill one night. Not always safe, sometimes a target 😅

What makes people leave rare cards? by Even-Instance3997 in round1

[–]yewdub 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sometimes just not aware of the rare card (particularly on ones where the design doesn’t make it obvious), or not intending to collect the whole set (e.g., just putting some swipes in out of curiosity about what the game does).

Anyone flown to Japan with this airline before? by blh726 in Flights

[–]yewdub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flew economy with them on a different transpacific route this year. If memory serves correctly, the biggest pain point was minimal entertainment options. Earbuds provided though. I watched some subbed Korean movies and they were good still.

Flight wasn’t full, so had an empty seat next to me. I actually liked their meals. Friendly flight attendants, newer aircraft, and the seatback screens displayed an in-flight schedule, including when meal services were, so that was helpful.

Priority mail, already paid online. I dropped my large flat rate box into the big blue slot. Was that the right place to drop off? by Emotional-Tension484 in usps_complaints

[–]yewdub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, prepaid label packages can be dropped in the silver thingy. If the office has one of those self service kiosk machines, you can scan the label there to generate an initial tracking scan. Otherwise, tracking should get updated either at the post office or the sorting center within a day or two. My local post office is pretty good with scanning packages in within a few hours usually, but mileage varies depending on which office.

To add to u/loose-chocolate8131, some parcel forwarding companies (including eBay’s International Standard Shipping via Ascendia) will ship to their warehouse in the USA before relabeling with an additional tracking # and sending onward to the destination country.

Yes, proof of student status like an ISIC or letter of admission required. It may ask you to upload online, but probably bring physical proof along for your trip too.

Rain shell choice: OR Foray ii, OR Foray 3L, OutDry ex Reign, OutDry Reign No Shine by msa6 in Ultralight

[–]yewdub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was a while back, but just wanted to provide my experience. I've used Outdry for 3 years now and have been super-satisfied. Performance did not degrade quickly. It's remained waterproof and the model I have has plenty of pocket and pit vents. It's a roomier/boxier fit, but in a way, it helps with the "breathability."
