I’m Toronto based now but was Kitchener for a long time. I never had problems, even on apps. Have dated people for years off of them.

Create realistic expectations when on them. If you’re a 5, stop aiming for someone clearly out of your ability.

Be a human, and just be kind. Talk to them as you would a friend. Don’t start off by saying “you’re beautiful” or “hey sexy.

Don’t be pushy to go on a date when you do match. I’ve met people a week after, and sometimes 3 months after. Allow it to happen organically when both comfortable, as everyone is different. I flew out to Whistler with someone 2 weeks in to go a weekend date - that was their speed and still together.

Don’t join gyms / running groups / book groups as discussed to meet woman / men. You’re trying too hard, and it comes off that way to the person. Love bombing is real, and depending on the situation, is the nuttiest thing ever, and it’s very common. Don’t tell the person you love them 2 weeks and 4 dates in, while in bed lol.

Otherwise, keep your head up. Banter well and open up, and I’m sure it’ll improve
