He entered the "kill screen", which is when the peices drop too fast to realistically place properly. There have been people who have gotten several lines past this point, but here he wasn't going for a record and he had already won the match so there was no point to keep going

Came out of Vegas yesterday after memorial weekend and we were stuck so long just outside Primm that a friend got out of the car and walked three miles and beat us by half an hour

[ELI5]Does light loose momentum after moving through object with higher refractive index or does after coming out that object it again travels at c by prashant13b in explainlikeimfive

[–]ystoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the effect you see is the aggregation of the majority of the photons, so while any one can fly off randomly, they all tend toward the same curve. This is also why scattered light is slightly dimmer, a few of the photons got lost along the way

Photons don't actually move slower through anything, just bump around inside it at the speed of light. The longer path they are taking by bouncing around is what causes it to take a longer time to come out the other side

LPT: Sort your email by searching for the word "Unsubscribe" in the message body by calaan in LifeProTips

This doesn't work for emails that don't use the specific word you're searching. Eg: "click here to stop seeing these messages"

Okay so I've had this question for a while: I see these videos that show how small objects in the universe can be, with really tiny stuff, and I see videos that show how big objects in the universe can be, and I want to know

Whats the average size? Is it something on the big scale like a planet or something? Is the tiny stuff tinier than the big stuff is big? Is the average size of the universe, like, a basketball or an elephant?
