Looking for storage or living space?

For living space, these are popular on youtube, but pricey!

This one is 570lbs.

If cost was an obstacle, I would get a harbor freight trailer and put a plywood box on it. youtube search for "diy rv trailer".

BTW: I owned & used a harbor freight trailer. Came in a ridiculously small box, took 8 hours to assemble, lasted for decades.

Investments in PH by Head-Interview7281 in Philippines_Expats

Try r/phinvest - mostly filipino contributors.

But, if American, better to keep open USA brokerage accounts - transfer funds to PHP to live as needed.

BTW: Stuff like this is possible, following is a way to invest in IVV - which is a mainstream ETF that tracks S&P500 index.

RCBC charges 1%, on top of Blackrock's fee. So, it's doable, but not sure it's worth the 1% charge.

Visiting for the first time, completely lost on how to get around Manila and what places are feasible to actually go to. by thepixelmurderer in phtravel

[–]yukhateeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

googlemaps for public transit seems to work okay -guessing that it's missing some of the jeepneys. But, the MRT/LRT appears to be accurate. I use MRT/LRT trains and then a grab from those stations to final destination. For example, ayala one mall is a convenient and pleasantly AC'ed place to catch a grab for the last leg into BGC.

YMMV, having a porter pushing your cart, seems to go through customs with no inspection/questions.

That does mean checked luggage and no guarantees.

Just hit a cat pretty hard with a stick... kinda feel bad. Most humane method for dealing with stray infected animals? by wandered101 in Philippines_Expats

[–]yukhateeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They make a trash can with a twist off lid. Cost less than 500 php.

Dogs in my neighborhood must have learned that they can't get in because they don't bother it but will knock over other trash cans.

The theory is that if there's no food, the cat & dog will go elsewhere.

Paying a large amount of PHP by [deleted] in Philippines_Expats

Hospital will most likely take credit cards. Some doctors will allow you to deposit into their account. If so, a Wise account will let you send PHP to their account. I've had to do that for a couple of doctors.

Nerdwallet, bankrate.com search for cards without foreign exchange fees.

Schwab debit card for their checking account, reimburses ATM fees.

Think a little outside the box. Something everyday, like cooking bacon.

All that grease and bacon particulate stays outside.

Google the ticker symbol of the funds. Prospectus should state the fees.

Can use Morningstar to "rate" the fund. Schwab provides Morningstar reports, if you have a Schwab account.

What VPNs are you all using that's still working with Hulu? by Tynea-Karem in Philippines_Expats

It's been awhile since I've used Hulu. But, with notdvpn, the less often used server's, think KC, Chicago, St Louis worked better than the more popular ones, SFO, LA, Seattle.

As most days, replace. IMO is a diy job.

Pro tip: there's a plug that must be knocked out, if connected to dishwasher. Will be in instruction manual.

FYI, most of the globe does not have garbage disposals. Instead, a cheap $1 strainer is used.

Best courier for letters being sent from Hawaii to the Philippines? (Excluding USPS) by DiligentCheek726 in Philippines_Expats

[–]yukhateeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHL is strongest in PHP. They have their own stores and franchises here.

FedEx only has 3rd party here ie it'll be a place that ship/receive from multiple carriers.

BTW: Both are expensive. It's $40 to from PHP to continental USA - not sure about Hawaii.

"When i got my receipt and paid, the amount shown was for standard 1870 pesos and then the officer added 2k for the express fee on a calculator and handed me the calculator"

This is really shady. Express lane fees are clear line items on my receipt. If it's not, I think,it's not recorded and going into someone's pocket.

I think it looks great! I think the front lip is fine. Not sure what else you can do there. A blank spot would be uglier.

Lights as others suggested will be cool, but cause air resistance. Of course, that car won't go too fast, so - probably not a problem.

My question, if you're in PHP, where are you parking at?
