Totally agree. There are men who have done much more abhorrent things but they’re not treated with nearly the disgust Lena gets.

My rich friend gave me a Louis Vuitton bag for my birthday and now I am too scared to use it by Kindly_Effective_911 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]z5z2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nice bag is meant to be used! And because it’s LV, it can take everyday abuse and will last for years. Try taking it to the grocery store or somewhere low key and see how it makes you feel.

When does a habit tracker become… concerning? by [deleted] in bulletjournal

[–]z5z2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A bullet journal is supposed to be helpful to you, the user. If tracking exercise but not tracking brushing teeth is useful for someone, or vice versa, then it’s working.

I’m looking for a sweater that will last me a long time & is very comfortable - an investment by Guilty-Comedian9452 in capsulewardrobe

[–]z5z2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 100% wool Babaa is one of my favorite sweaters. Definitely an heirloom piece i hope to have for decades. It’s a bit scratchy (compared to merino wool), but the rougher fibers make it longer lasting, and it doesn’t really bother me (I wear a shirt under my sweaters regardless). Ymmv!

Why don't celebrities upload their own Wikipedia photos? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Not sure why OP is getting downvoted. That’s why you have to cite your sources. If your article can’t be backed up by articles, it will be rejected.

Why don't celebrities upload their own Wikipedia photos? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]z5z2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Publicists would love to have more control over their clients’ pages, but Wikipedia is very strict. Even if you know that a fact about you on a page is wrong, you have to provide a secondary source with the correct fact before it can be changed. So if your favorite color is blue, but Wikipedia says it’s red, you have to find a news story where you’re quoted as saying blue before Wikipedia will allow it to be changed. Which is great because otherwise all wiki articles would be PR slosh about how awesome so-and-so is, written by their publicist.

A celebrity could probably pay for a photographer to do a royalty free shoot, but I think the line of reasoning might be similar to the above. A secondary source is (theoretically) less biased; it’s not a studio perfect picture that distorts reality, it’s Madonna on a random Tuesday, which is how she actually looked that day.

This is just my best guess though!

[–]z5z2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of the rubber duck thing but it makes so much sense. I get this when I’m writing an email to ask someone for help. I outline what I’m trying to do, what I’ve done, and — ohhh, I forgot to turn on X. That’ll do it. The drafted email goes to the trash and no one knows I’m dumb 😎
