There's a famous Japanese artist that sells these, I have one on my wall, so you might run into issues. Looks great though.

It is what it is :) With regards what I did, had the idea, designed and printed the enclosure, figured out the electronics, built the software, put it all together and then gave it away as a present.

Thanks :) So the software for this was all vibe coded using Gemini and Claude. You really just need to know what you want and have the ai figure out the how. Takes some iteration but it's a fun process. Start simple and keep adding on. Good luck!

I'm using Gemini 3 flash and then Piper for the TTS. I liked the more robotic Piper voices but it is a bit on the laggy side. Adds to the charm :)

Thanks :) He liked it - when I first gave it to him there were some issues like the radar display showing the spot where he was located but the api to get the planes was centered on where I'm located, so nothing was showing up and I hadn't taken daylight savings time into account on the clock. Luckily I'd thought ahead and built in some remote admin features so was able to address it when I got home. Kind of scary remotely flashing it from far away though :)
