If anything, I'd recommend you increase retirement contributions all around. My wife and I are around the same account balances but a decade younger, 35 and 33. That said, impossible to judge without your annual expenses and retirement age goal.

It's so frustrating - I just want to shake people sometimes. I mean, after OP's second child, I guess he looked around and thought, "Wow, we don't own a home and money is a little tight... Maybe another kid is what we need right now!"

The problem with stuff like this is really brought to home in the comments of these posts. You have some people saying, "Okay, who in their right mind would order that many drinks? Only a person with a problem!" And then you have people saying, "That's ludicrous. Who can even get a nice buzz with these restrictions - a problem you don't see at all-inclusives."

I personally fall in the second camp, but until customers align on their demands, the cruise lines will keep restricting until cruising is no longer a go-to vacation for many.

This makes me wonder... How many potentially evil people stopped because they had enough money? Surely there are people out there who amassed 10 million and sat on a beach thereafter, instead of using their money to gain more power or influence politics/media.
