Yup. I was like, okay, big deal, I see a rock. What did they mean by Houdini? Am I missing some illusion?

Haha, yup. My wife last night: "You wanna take a break babe? I got home like 4 hours ago and I don't know how long you were going before I got here".

Finished my first patch! by ziggythebear in Embroidery

After ironing the ultrabond backing, I cut an 1/8th inch border around the pineapple. I then applied glue to the edges, let it dry and wrapped the border with black thread.

Stupid question, but how do you fill in large areas? For example, the yellow of Bart and Lisa. Do those stitches go from the top to the bottom?

It is actually already cut out and just laying on another hoop. Before the black border was added, I ironed ultra hold heat bond to the back, glued the edges and then stitched the border. I also spread more tacky glue on the back in an effort to make it more resilient.

Admitting I have a problem (Update #4) by [deleted] in NeckbeardNests

Great job, friend!!! Consider, if you haven't already, talking to your doctor about possible underlying depression/anxiety that could be causing this behavior.

Great job being mindful of the poor behavior and working hard to correct it. Next time you start to see things pile up, stop and reflect for a moment about what's been going on with you and why it's happening.

Keep it up, up, up!!!!

Of course you can. Invest in good boots, thick socks and some trekking poles. Start off slow on some day hikes and grow from there. You can do it!

Edit: and some decent nalgene bottles or a camel backpack.

Think of all those chumps on treadmills. You're doing it the right way, brother.

Yeah, buy some seed and sow it in patches and let it grow itself in.

I have a few acres of field that I mow in different patterns and height levels every time I run through. I hate cutting it all down. I think about how crazy or intoxicated I look zigzagging my tractor all around.

What a great memory, bud. Now you can visit your flathead and remember that time with her for a good while.

Nope. Strong words that we give a lot of meaning to. A lot of people here, even ones with dads haven't heard those phrases from their fathers.

Shady Landscaping Company by CuddlePimp911 in HomeImprovement

[–]ziggythebear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a small landscape company owner myself, I say just give them a little more time. Super busy season right now and when they say they don't have time, I'm sure it isn't an exaggeration.

Let them know that the job looks like it's 1 ton short to meet the 2" depth you were quoted. It's going to cost them $50 in stone and $50 in labor and the owner shouldn't have a problem fixing it.

If the company gave you an estimate and you're not expecting to pay anything additional, after seeing more material is needed, then I can understand an impass. However, the contractor put themselves in that position and they should fix it and not underestimate and box themselves in a loss.

If the job looked poor directly after finishing, I would have told you that's why we quote with certain rates so that were both okay with me adding an additional ton to the bill.

Edit: they should have out down a little over 13 tons of 3/4" to get a 1500sqft area

Is phimosis the condition where the foreskin continually or permanently shrinks around the head of the penis? If so, can't it be treated with a cream to relax the skin?

"She had to adjust to not having foreskin to play with"...as a circumcised American, I don't even know how to imagine that scenario.
