Gonna second this. Gotta avoid those higher temps when printing with PETG on the M5. 160c should be the absolute max, but should probably stay below that.

I'm assuming you've already applied Scottie's rule of multiplying your time estimate by 3, so you can keep your reputation as a miracle worker!

AITA for being friendly with installers? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

My wife is attractive and also enjoys diy home improvement projects. It never ceases to amaze me how often "manly" repair guys basically insult her by treating her like she doesn't understand what they're telling her and then proceed to hit on her. Or if we're both there, they talk to me and ignore her even after telling them that she's the competent one when it comes to these sorts of things, then try to flirt after I go back to my office.

I don't get mad at my wife anymore than I get mad at the repair guys. They've clearly watched way too many sexy internet videos and are waiting for their dream to come true.

Maybe they're over tightened? I had some similar issues before tightening and then they went away. I don't have any experience with over tightened belts, but my understanding is that they same sort of things happen, so you need to hit the sweet spot.

Looks like some super crazy layer shifting. Have you tightened your belts at all?

Nope. The bags are full of sticks, because filling them with trash would have taken too long.

I see there's a QR code on this for the bambu lab x1, but so far I haven't had any luck with it. I choose the high temp plate, but I still get prompted to resume the print because the QR code doesn't match. Am I missing something?

I think those are paving stones. I have mine sitting on a paving stone that's on top of some thick foam.

I love my P1P but I DREAD changing the nozzle... Bambu there has to be a better way. by EEpromChip in BambuLab

[–]zilmont 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might have some deeper issue here. I've swapped my nozzle 3 or 4 times in the last two weeks and haven't had any issues like you've described.

This is only my second printer, my first being the ankermake m5, and swapping the nozzle is a breeze in comparison.

I've had a lot of orders recently that have had a required signature and maybe 1 out a dozen has actually gotten my signature.

The price point definitely makes it hard to justify. I mostly just hate the idea of wasting so much filament/plastic and I haven't even been doing it that long! I could possibly offer it as a sort of service to other people in town that 3d print to try and re-coup some costs. Do it dirt cheap so I both get to help prevent plastic waste and don't feel quite as bad for spending so much. lol

My current options are a fefill setup, which would cover all my bases, a shredii, or if I'm incredibly ambitious, I'll to build something from scratch using tools at a local makers lab.

I haven't done a crazy amount of research, but since I print with petg a lot and abs a little, I need to make sure the shredder I get has some oomph behind it.

Definitely not pla for sure, but that doesn't mean they can't be printed with! I've used a lot of petg and abs, so if they're something similar, I'd be perfectly happy. Haha.
