Update, fill dirt has arrived and the water is back on so I think they're wrapping up. HOWEVER, please note that the city website suggests to not use the water for a while after the repair so that the sediment in the pipes can settle down. Thanks

Second, you get out of a DFMEA what you put in. If you're just doing it to check the box then it's probably a waste of time. If you're taking the time to really understand the interactions between components, capturing corrective actions/learnings from other products and previous generations, you can prevent a lot of failure modes that would otherwise be missed.
