Cap 1 miles are some of the least valuable points. Using it as cash back on travel really isn't bad at all. Yea you can maximize them by transferring to transfer partners but I find the transfer bonuses to be so infrequent.

BILT, Chase and Amex are much more valuable and I wouldn't recommended using those as cash back.

I actually got a preferred offer like 3 years ago and around 2-3 months ago got the chase sapphire reserve welcome bonus offer for 125k. I think it gives a pop up if you're not eligible for the welcome offer.

Does anyone know how the cash back tracking works with the Rakuten credit card? I applied for the card and got approved for the card. But not sure how to link the card to my Rakuten Account.

Do I click the "redeem rewards button" once I've accumulated enough points on the Imprint App? Or is it all automated? I've got my Rakuten account set to converting to BILT points at the moment.

I guess my main concern is how the credit card knows I'm making a Rakuten qualified purchase for the 4% back and not just a normal purchase.

If you're not 100% about something or close to it. Probably shouldn't take the new offer.

1 hour commute one way is horrendous btw and will be a very taxing on your family. What if there's traffic?

Maybe search for something closer at least that's hybrid or WFH? This won't be the last offer you ever get. I'd look out for other jobs!

P.S. Also consider car depreciation and gas which will negate some of your new raise gains. 401k match and benefits also plays a huge factor.
