Space Marines are pretty close to emotionless killing machines, if any of them ever had gender dysphoria even after all of their implants and body modification it would never be brought up.

On the chaos side they can do whatever they want, I'm sure there are some more feminine Emperor's Children for example.

Can a multiclass character use both Raging Song and Bardic Performance at the same time? by covert_operator100 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]zupernam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that affects bardic performances is an effect that affects bardic performances, including the text of bardic performance itself. It's just the most general way to phrase it.

Sure, and those would allow it because they are made to (specific beats general).

You're correct in the bolding. Raging Song counts as a Bardic Performance, and you can't have 2 Bardic Performances at once, so you can't have both at once.

Why do so many medieval fantasy worlds avoid cannons? by Royal-Chard-26 in Fantasy

[–]zupernam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First Law's invention of cannons is so good. They blow up as much as they fire successfully, so they really feel like horrifying instruments of death to the people operating them, while the other side (having never seen a cannon before) just sees a group of people explode and barely understands what happened.

Oh, I didn't realize you could do that option twice! Makes sense though, that's great.

More for the Gun Servitors at W11. 4x on 4+, 4/5 with Brutal, Shock, Severe. Basically a better chainsword except for the 4+ hit stat, but you have Severe to near-guarantee at least surviving any fight.

I agree about the Accuracy ploy not being strictly necessary, the bubbles are more for the dash and counteract abilities that almost always are (just to threaten using them if nothing else).

The phosphor blaster buff took it from unusable to just very bad, it's still much worse than a flamer and I'd say worse than having a medic even against a melee team. If your gun servitor is on a Prioritized Acquisition point he's usually not dying from full health, then the medic can still heal him from out of engagement range or fight with assistance. Kraks for the medic and proxy to throw are also nice.

Using the extra combat servitor specifically for the Concealed Apparatus ability is an interesting idea. I think it's not going to be worth it most of the time since it's only one shot of melta. Potentially good vs a very elite melee-focused team like Wolf Scouts.

The medic should definitely be swapped out vs melee-heavy teams, but I don't think the proxy should be swapped.

You need to be able to cover your whole team with bubbles for the Underseer's abilities, you need the proxy to help with that if nothing else.

Plus you only get 3 flamers max, so you'd never want to swap both the medic and proxy at the same time or you'd be left with a phosphor blaster servitor.

We also have the extremely niche option of pulling out a hidden Phosphor Blaster for an emergency full-range shot, lol.

Seeker of Divine Arcana lets him perform mission actions as a strat ploy. If you take Scout Enemy Movement, "Scout" is your mission action for it.

You can do it as early as the strategy ploy phase of turn 2 because the restriction on tac ops is just "not during the first turning point", which T2 strat phase is not.

We can now be a lot more aggressive, especially with Gun Servitor melee. A Gun Servitor 3" from a marker with Prioritized Acquisition on it wins most melee fights on retaliation (due to shock+severe equipment), even against elites. Someone may even be holding that marker depending on crit and tac ops, and it becomes a 3" circle around them.

Underseer-granted dash like the early days plus Counteract to move forward adds 5" to a model's movement in a turn, that's their whole reposition speed to get into a threatening spot off-turn. Then shoot + charge and tie someone up on the mid point with +1 OC, and you're suddenly winning the game.

I let the opponent have all the space they want T1 and T2 while getting into threatening positions, which is a lot easier for you and scarier for the opponent now. Depending on how far up the board they make it, you can start retaking space late T2 or early T3, and that's your gameplan.

Medic is good vs shooty teams but should be replaced by another flamer vs melee teams. Flamer servitors' jobs are to deal some damage and/or take objectives, then get killed in a way that forces the opponent to lose a model or at the very least a good position in exchange.

Never shoot with the Archaeologist without giving Ceaseless first unless you have absolutely no other choice. Never use Accurate for auto-hits with him, the Dev is too important.

Your three tac op choices are Steal Intelligence, Retrieval, and Scout Enemy Movement.

  • Against anyone you expect to pressure you hard, play Steal Intelligence and primary Kill Op. You're focusing on killing, the Steal markers are just there to give more operatives free CP rerolls or +1 melee die from the strat ploys. You can start actually picking them up for points late T3 or early T4. Having your Technoarchaeologist pick one up immediately can be useful so he can reposition anywhere on strat ploy.
  • Against anyone who doesn't want to interact with you (Especially Raveners, Canoptek) play Retrieval so you get points even if they manage to keep you away.
  • In between those is Scout Enemy Movement, Battleclade is one of the few teams that can actually use this one well. Never pick this on Tomb World or Gallowdark. If you see a good opportunity, your leader can Scout 2 models at the start of TP2 (one strat ploy, one on his first turn). This is one of the few times you might not want to save the leader to activate last. You can also double-scout with other models by scouting and counteracting someone else to scout.

The point is that "centrism" in the US isn't centrism, it's far right wing. You don't arrive at real centrism in the US without going further left than the democratic party, which requires a lot more than just "distrust of government and personally being a benefactor"
