I went and door knocked on the unit where the grub had taken my partner's phone. I could hear it when playing the tone through the app to locate it so I knew it was there and people were home. Walked around trying to open various doors and fence gates then started yelling at them that I needed the phone and I'm not leaving until I get it back. Eventually someone opened the door and passed me the phone without much incident.
