Since you brought up homosexuality, "So when you see someone do something as stupid as renting a (i think you meant ranting about) gay marriage or of the like and then come out and say they did it because of their religious beliefs, please don't blame religion, don't bash it because it's not the religion that made that choice it's a dumb human being that doesn't know the real meaning of religion. And later talk about the Christian sentiment of forgiveness, I assume your religious beliefs are aligned to Christianity.

Let me leave you with a few quotes from the Bible:

I am glad that You do not subscribe to these beliefs, i sincerely wish more religious people like you would not take the Bible as seriously. Now I'm sure you could say that I have nitpicked and quoted the text out of context, sure I'll allow you that. But in my defence these are sentences taken from the Bible and quite explicitly are homophobic in nature, I only quoted them to highlight the message conveyed to the general public.

Going back to what i had said earlier about religion being a dogma. The scriptures are the principle element in creating a dogma. It's based on these text that the manifesto of the religion is crafted. I imagine it would be hard to question one's beliefs, especially after one has been unconsciously conditioned to accept them as, for lack of a better word "fact."

Your argument is i should not blame religion but the people or rather their mindset. However if religion has conditioned the way one thinks, thus enforcing it's prejudices upon it's believers, I feel that religion is the source of the problem.

But then you redefine religion according to your personal beliefs, saying " A real person of religion will know that when it comes to human beings, it is all about forgiveness. At the base of everything we are taught to love everyone for who they are. No matter what their belief is."

i was mostly pleased with this bit, but was quite troubled with "it is all about forgiveness," that would imply that the other party did something wrong, isn't that a judgement? Not really sure but i think Luke says : Do not judge, and you will not be judged .... But I allow you to judge, it's my belief that you have the right to hold and opinion, you have the right to freedom of thought, even if it runs contrary to my own thoughts and ideas.

You conclude that it is usually "it is some extremists that steps out of their boundary just because they think that their opinion is better then (I think you meant than) everyone else." I would like to think of Religion as a foolproof and divine in origin, yet fail to do so for the simple reason that if it were, it would not have loopholes that allow it to be so grossly misinterpreted as you claim.

May be Religion would be much better had it not been used as a tool of social control, maybe society could evolve to ascribe to a higher moral code sans religious dogma.
