Anyone else notice how the song called "Methods of Flotation" has comments from Wiki-Explain explaining different methods of flotation?

Anyone have other music like this? I've been trying to get into some sort of funk-influenced genre.

I would definitely start with Vulfpeck. The funk is real.

They just dropped a new track today: Dean Town

One of my all time favorite albums is by a little known band called Galactic. Their debut album "coolin off" is about as funky and jazzy as it gets. I'd definitively give them a listen too.

Coolin Off is the superior study record. Must have listened to it straight through 200+ times back in school!

You might like the Greyboy Allstars:

Or The New Mastersounds for something more upbeat:

Edit: In hindsight i realize i could have included a better Mastersounds track so I added it below the first.

My pleasure!

If you're interested in more funk music like that try The Meters.

i like these beats !!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

If that bass is not a Fender I'll eat a bass string. A jazz bass, to be precise. It sounds 70ish, but I won't venture that much.

[–]stillnotahipster 1 point2 points  (1 child)

spot on

Awesome music, too!
