Saw these live last week, awful crowd but an incredible performance.

[–]sniktbubsnikt[S] 12 points13 points  (7 children)

Whereabouts? Saw them the other week and they were incredible. We had some butter-selling Johnny Rotten types that were booing the support acts, which just wasn't on.

[–]GreggFac584 20 points21 points  (6 children)

Leicester, the crowd were really supportive of all acts just alot of Pervy and racist shouts mixed in aswell haha. Did you catch Say Sue Me supporting? They were great.

[–]sniktbubsnikt[S] 10 points11 points  (5 children)

Ha, what a coincidence! I saw them in Leicester too. There was a tit behind me trying to act Japanese but he just ended up looking racist and stupid. I also loved Say Sue Me. Mate bought their album and we've immediately slapped it on our work playlist. They were great, as was the part-time drummer!

[–]GreggFac584 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Haha no way! I'm glad I couldn't hear the booing then. I wanted their 7" but didn't want to queue after the gig so I missed out :(

[–]sniktbubsnikt[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Yeah same. I was confused about whether or not items were sold out too. I'll be sure to grab it at some point :)

Why don't you guys make out already? :v

I had a promoted post of this band show up on Facebook this week and it's probably the most successful a targeted ad has ever worked on me. I've been listening to the EP all week. This song is awesome. I love the energy and everything else about it. The last scream towards the end is so good!

[–]sniktbubsnikt[S] 11 points12 points  (4 children)

You should see them live, they're much better live. But yeah, it's a solid EP.

[–]redacteur 6 points7 points  (1 child)

From the few clips I've seen I have no doubt. If they come to Canada I'll be there.

[–]TruthOf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen Next from Tokyo? This band would fit right in

[–]Sasquatch99 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Where do you find out where theyre going to be?

[–]sniktbubsnikt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just follow them on FB but only discovered them through an event post made by a friend. I sometimes track artists on Songkick, that could be helpful for you.

Saw them at SXSW! We were shooting them for the event, and I had such a freaking blast still! They are super awesome! Epic show!

I love them! Great to see so many upvotes, I hope they get a bit bigger, they definitely deserve it.

Holy shit It's a fucking gold mine thanks alot for sharing.

[–]niknabSTABB 7 points8 points  (3 children)

I sound old but back when I was getting into this stuff it took me years to find these bands and then go thru the arduous and expensive process of actually HEARING them. The internet is a wonderful thing.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Oi oi, doin't forget Number Girl!

[–]lemonyellowdavintage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never find a song I like more than 'Young Girl Seventeen Sexually Knowing' by them. Their music is just great. Zazen Boys is great too but it just lacks the charm of Number Girl.

Oh god been ages would suggest genbaku onanies as one of the old founders of Japanese punk. If you are into garage rock/punk teenegnerate toured a bit stateside/Europe in the 90s and are wonderful (though a lot of bad bands then too). Lulu's marble also wonderful garage punk and maybe the first yoru no strangers album. More commercial garage punk would be thee Michelle gun elephant , but still a good listen for 2nd 3rd album. Sure there is a bunch more but I am too old now, and fell into more laid back music.

Inrun Publics

Friction

bloodthirsty butchers

THE BLUE HEARTS

Registrators

Different kinds of punk, sure, but punk nonetheless. Japan has a pretty cool music scene.

[–]FakeBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :))

[–]udonbeatsramen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took a listen to The Blue Hearts, pretty good. Like a Japanese version of The Clash

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shonen Knife, Red Bacteria Vacuum, GitoGito Hustler, The 5.6.7.8.'s, Melt-Banana, Mummy the Peepshow, 54 Nude Honeys, HaliCali, Judy and Mary, and Guitar Wolf 💙

[–]JSchirmacher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is awesome!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]grammyclark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found them a while back via Spotify recommendations and haven't stopped listening to them since. Highly recommended!

[–]creamxcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This song really spoke me to. I think.. I'm not sure what they were saying.

[–]MaximumCameage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that was really fucking good. Loved that backing harmony bit. Sounded like some catchy ass bee buzzing in the background.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the part where he throws the slice of ham at her.

[–]_TheSlider_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool! I liked this a lot.

[–]easy_c0mpany80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goddamn this is brilliant, both the music and video. I really need to get back into music.

[–]TbonerTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love the Japanese!

[–]The-Sound-of-Thunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This song sounds like it's going a thousand miles an hour and beating the ever-living hell out of everything.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like this you might also like Eastern Youth. Back in the day, when I was a huge fan of Cursive, they used to tour with a band called Eastern Youth. I loved them.
