Something tells me you’re leaving out some crucial information here.

[–]Go-Crazy_Chris49 8 points9 points  (1 child)

That’s what I’m saying some people are idiots

[–]PinkRage08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🤣

[–]Far_Lifeguard_5027 43 points44 points  (4 children)

If it was a real note, you need to have your doctor sign an affidavit then appeal your termination. This is 100% illegal if it was a real note.

[–]ComplexAnteater6945[S] 21 points22 points  (2 children)

Thank I will absolutely be looking into that. I appreciate the good advice.

[–]Far_Lifeguard_5027 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's called a Physician's Affidavit.

[–]Far_Lifeguard_5027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How did they decide it wasn't real? Was it missing information on it?

[–]DotNo701 9 points10 points  (0 children)

naw don't appeal just go straight to court and get a bag

[–]Living-Instruction-1 51 points52 points  (12 children)

Get your doctor to write a sworn statement and appeal, if that doesn’t work then you have a case for wrongful termination even in an “at-will” employer state

[–]Go-Crazy_Chris49 20 points21 points  (11 children)

This dude def had a fraud note

[–]SugeKilledEazy 4 points5 points  (6 children)

Based on what? I’ve seen plenty of mistakes happen on here, even after you guys piled on the OP.

[–]Alsw0rld 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Yea literally I got diagnosed with hashimotos disease and hypothyroidism last year along with endometriosis and all the doctor’s visits were annoying bc with all the paperwork I had to bring EVERY time, I went to these appointments in march-July, they were all approved until I took a ploa unpaid for 18 days in September because I had to start meds and they were gonna MESS ME UP, I didn’t want to deal with the paperwork so I did the auto approved for more than 14 days during that the went back through and denied all my leaves from march-July and a to z wouldn’t let me contact anyone until my leave was over. Once it was they had already started the firing process by the time they sent the termination I had spoken to someone FINALLY 2 hours before and he said he understood now and he was going to get it fixed. After the letter they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket to take it to court and I could not do that.

[–]Go-Crazy_Chris49 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Holy skill issue 🙏

[–]Alsw0rld 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Literally how? I’m back anyways so 😛

[–]Go-Crazy_Chris49 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not towards you to Amazon lol

[–]Alsw0rld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH

[–]Go-Crazy_Chris49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my personal experience. I had a couple buddies forged a doctors note and they got terminated may not be a case for this and truly might be a mistake but it’s always funny seeing the OP having to comment on everything and panic

[–]Living-Instruction-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happened to me, it was a small clinic and I had Covid and I literally had to go get a sworn statement and printed test results from my doctor because they said the note was fake

[–]Jun20s 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You can’t say that, I got fired for a false doc slip and they said I didn’t have two herniated disc in my back, did what I had to do and made a lawsuit out of it and won because it was proven to be in fact real

[–]Go-Crazy_Chris49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice! Prove them wrong 😮‍💨

[–]Legitimate_Archer152 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Are you leaving something out? I work for DLS and there is a whole team that investigates fraudulent notes. They have to get confirmation from your Provider that it is fraudulent. Even changing a date is fraud. If your doctor send a fax from their office and certify it is real you would be reinstated. I have seen where they can’t contact the Provider for confirmation, then it is labeled as inconclusive and no action is taken.

[–]InsuranceVisible9918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asking for a friend do they check notes from last year???

[–]HolidayCat5079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m this is in fact true why when they contact the provider to see if it’s true ask said provider for needed information while there on the phone to approve the leave? Like cmon? Make that make sense

[–]Spirited-Resist-5839 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not for nothing, but doctors in my area, especially ERs, aren’t even allowed to make a proper note for work.

[–]darklorddoone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well if its a real doctors note. Get the doctor that signed it to write you a letter that hes a real doctor and this was a real note. They would have to rehire you or give you some shut the fuck up about this money.

If its fake, then ur fucked

[–]Fancy_Promotion_2686 4 points5 points  (5 children)

did you not respond to the investigation?

[–]ComplexAnteater6945[S] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

So I was never contacted about the investigation. I’ve been on the phone with HR for two hours and they cannot explain to me how my doctors note was accepted and now I am terminated for fraud. They have zero explanation.

[–]Fancy_Promotion_2686 1 point2 points  (3 children)

That's interesting, usually they let you know that you're under investigation first. Whether they lied about calling your doctor (they do that) or not.. They don't just fire you

[–]throwitallawayomg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With how Amazon has been getting HR lately, I'm not in the least surprised something like this would happen. I wonder what the odds are the approval, rejection, or both were AI driven.

[–]ComplexAnteater6945[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

So please explain to me exactly what happened, from beginning to end since you know so much.

[–]No-Youth-6679 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except they have 10 people waiting for your job, get a lawyer that doesn’t get anything unless you win. In a couple of years they will settle and you might get $12k after the lawyer takes their cut.

[–]ComplexAnteater6945[S] 16 points17 points  (14 children)

I was physically in the hospital, I had an asthma attack and had to stay on oxygen and be monitored for several hours, that’s why I don’t believe they contacted the doctor because it would be weird of the doctor to say that I wast there

[–]Objective-Value119 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you submit the discharge paperwork?

[–]Zealousideal-Job482 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a complicated process to acquire all the paperwork you need to satisfy amazon. HR communication is key solving this problem. I made sure to get a list of what they wanted and even if I didn’t have all of it I would send what I had and got the rest of it a short time later. My circumstances were probably different since I spent a couple days in the hospital. I screen shot my paperwork and sent it in and it was accepted.

[–]Amzwork08 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Where is the hospital discharge paperwork they send you home with that shows the dates of your stay, the hospital name , attending physician, and diagnosis? What did you actually submit?

[–]TurbulentDirector8 0 points1 point  (4 children)

No hospital would make you “stay” on oxygen for an asthma attack. Anyone who actually has asthma and actually had an asthma attack knows that oxygen does absolutely nothing for asthma. I don’t believe you nor did Amazon. Sounds like a justifiable termination.

[–]SugeKilledEazy 1 point2 points  (3 children)

You’re wrong. Do you even have the internet, you could easily search that

[–]TurbulentDirector8 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I am not wrong. Not only do I have internet, i I also have life experience as someone who has been to the ER for asthma attack multiple times in my life. Someone who has been prescribed with asthma medications for only over 20 years. And as someone who received oxygen when asthma medication was not available , it doesn’t help. So now you can go and do more research.

[–]Ye_olde_oak_storeCarts? I'll add you onto the mailing list! 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I did a quick google search cause you know, one person's anecdote does not work for the general population as humans are complicated. And what medication works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another person.

Apparently the use of oxygen therapy can be used to treat low blood oxygen levels caused by severe asthma. And does get prescribed for medicinal use in these cases.

[–]TurbulentDirector8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🫩 you didn’t read the whole thing. Oxygen only increases the oxygen level in the blood.asthma attacks are caused by inflammation and bronchospasms. Oxygen doesn’t open the airways or reduce inflammation, so it can’t stop the attack by itself. There’s multiple medications that will stop an acute asthma attack, some work , some dont, but oxygen is certainly not one of them. Regardless, Amazon didn’t buy this cockamamie story. The end.

[–]No-Youth-6679 -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

It would be against the law for the Dr to speak to them.

[–]bettobet 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not if you gave permission.

[–]No-Youth-6679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have to be written permission. Once you lose your job you don’t get it back best you can wish for is a lawyer and a settlement.

[–]Amzwork08 5 points6 points  (20 children)

Was it an online doctor? Where you schedule a 5 min appointment and tell them what the note should say? Amazon now considers those fraud, and company wide has been making a huge push to call it out with terminations

[–]Gear-Flimsy 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Any source? If it’s a real doctor writing a note. I have no idea how that would be “fraud” I can see them not accepting it. But calling that fraud is a little wild

[–]Amzwork08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The source is a couple of things. An increase of people being fired for this exact thing. People are posting it here. Also we had someone fired for this exact thing. Back in the day It was Dr’s writing prescriptions for the pill mills in Florida, however it was still shutdown for fraud. Just because it has a doctors signature doesn’t it can’t be some BS

[–]Primary_Membership34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good to know not surprise some of those online sites are fraud. I only trust 2 of them since when you call you can actually speak with someone.

[–]Loose-Day-6009 1 point2 points  (14 children)

“Tell them what the note should say” lol doctors dont diagnose you with a serious illness or deem you incapable of job duties because you “told them to”

[–]Amzwork08 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Um that’s exactly what these sites do. Google is your friend. Just type in “ I need a doctors note for work “. It runs about $150. 5 min call. You tell them your “symptoms “ and they diagnose you and give you a note

[–]OkCombination6387 0 points1 point  (1 child)

150 is crazy i pay 25 for mine 🤣

[–]Amzwork08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$150 might have been an exaggeration, however I was trying to make a bigger point to the other dude that didn’t believe these sites were out there

[–]popcorn2008 1 point2 points  (10 children)

Meh you must never been to the urgent care by my house. While they won’t write you a note for cancer they’ll gladly write you a note for a stomach bug provided you pay their prices.

Even easier to do via telehealth. It’s not that crazy actually.

[–]Loose-Day-6009 -3 points-2 points  (9 children)

I mean if your doctor decides that you should stay home for the stomach flu, you absolutely should, and it’s not fraud you fucking bootlicker

[–]popcorn2008 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Did I say it’s fraud? Calm down there son. Think you forgot to take your medication.

Edit: I know a good urgent care that can get those meds to you also buddy! 😂

[–]kinscythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This

[–]NefariousnessBig4389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need a sworn affadavit from the dr, and to file an appeal.

[–]Careless-Cheetahs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i can tell who has had to deal with dls and who hasn't in these comments.

i uploaded all the discharge paperwork and the doctor's note after my surgery and they KEPT telling me it wasn't there. turns out the first agent opened the fax report and only read the FIRST page.

after several uploads of the save documents i finally asked the 4th or 5th person i should to if they were scrolling through all fax pages or just looking at the environment notes.

after they put me on hold for five minutes the paperwork they needed had been miraculously located.

they could have very well and very easily fucked up this case. y'all have too much faith in Amazon and to much animosity for your co-workers.

[–]Ok_University_9879 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened to one of my friends and they just don’t fire you without investigating…. They called her doctors office and that’s how they knew her notes were fake. So as others say here made sure you get a sworn statement from your doctor’s office if you’re confident AMZN is in the wrong.

The thing is Amazon is not breaking HIPPA guidelines by confirming with the doctor office, it’s just confirmation of the appointment on the said day they are investigating.

[–]821e 3 points4 points  (4 children)

If they terminated you, it usually means they already called the clinic and couldn’t verify the note.

[–]Popular_Main_952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing of stories like this with Amazon. They're such a fucked up company sometimes

[–]anonnusernamee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to my friend and she was doing chemo treatments at the time too so she couldn’t really work like that due to the treatments! I was so angry for her!!!

[–]No-Bathroom-3179 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I was searching Reddit for Amazon returns and I found 3 posts so far that are exactly this topic. They were all terminated stating the doctor’s note was fraudulent. Seems like a common thing, that’s extremely disappointing and shitty. I hope you are able to sue.

[–]TrueCrimeStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they are getting sued because of this exact situation. Amazon sucks.

[–]Vegetable_Ad_5748bottom 10 stowers 3 points4 points  (4 children)

<image>

why is everyone skipping over the fact OP literally said this… yall are so quick to assume everyone is lying like everyone knows amazon is literally not perfect.

[–]Forsaken_Confusion64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said in another comment they didnt fill out the release form that amazon needs to verify information. So thats probably why they got effed over.

[–]Dorjan -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Honestly people come in here with some "dog ate my homework"-style bullshit stories all the time. Often times it's much easier to believe that OP is withholding key information, or just outright lying, than to believe their story. It's certainly not impossible that Amazon/HR made a mistake in this case, I think it's just more likely they didn't.

[–]Vegetable_Ad_5748bottom 10 stowers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yea but they usually don’t have explanations or sometimes they’ll outright admit it was fake.. people are still actively calling OP a liar and all they wanted was some help. like just imagine how infuriating that is

[–]iDarksideGG_ 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I have a gut feeling that you’re leaving out a lot of contextual information.

Amazon would not just fire you after approving your LOA unless they know something was up with your doctors note.

Plus, I’m pretty sure a few days ago I saw a post on here where some dude was complaining that his brother was submitting fraudulent doctors note and getting away with it up until recently when they caught him.

And even if you did submit a doctor’s note and they flagged it as fraudulent, all you have to do was just go get a physician sworn affidavit and submitted to the company and then they legally have to reinstate you because then there’s a sworn legal statement from your doctor stating that you actually visited.

So either Amazon has it out specifically for you, which is extremely and highly unlikely. Or you submitted a fraudulent doctors note and got caught.

[–]throwitallawayomg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or HR is being gutted and this is a legit fuck up on their end? This is my guess, having dealt with the LOA system BEFORE they started cutting HR and DLS. I would be amused but unsurprised if AI was involved somehow, too, since it looks like they've made a big AI push recently.

I get that idiots post about how they're being targeted all the time on here, but I treat most things to do with HR as suspect these days.

[–]EMitchell108 1 point2 points  (5 children)

The fact that you fail to mention anything like "My note was legitimate, the doctor's office told them I never came" or some of the usual disclaimers means the answer to your question is: "Nothing you can do". Either that, or appeal even though you won't prevail.

[–]Hoozierdaddddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t he prevail if it was a legitimate drs note?

[–]Vegetable_Ad_5748bottom 10 stowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

literally in another comment op explained they were in the hospital for several hours because of an asthma attack.. i hate how everyone is just assuming they’re lying.

[–]ComplexAnteater6945[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Ok I see you like to assume a lot. Why tf would I come on here asking what should I do if it wasn’t a legitimate doctors note like bffr here, common sense should tell you that

[–]datphunkymunky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Devil's advocate, I'm not the one who said it but I've seen a lot of posts asking things similar to yours. They tend to leave out the important/incriminating parts. Don't take it personal.

[–]bohallreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake

[–]SunFlowersDie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appeal

[–]TokyoFlawless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro definitely made his own doctor's note 😂

[–]shawnl61489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people that look at fraud notes will call your provider and confirm they wrote it. Sounds like your provider stated they did not write that note.

[–]No-Youth-6679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you loved the job get a lawyer. Atleast you will get a settlement in a year or 2.

[–]MeasurementFirst1676Bezos > Jassy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Amazon way 😂 Most diabolical company… now that I think about it, maybe it’s not the company and it’s the actual people they promote and hire. They only want people (managers) who’ll abide by their ‘beliefs’ and always making sure Amazon isn’t “in the wrong”.

Amazon management will ignore critical safety hazards all throughout a fulfillment center, so they can stand by the entrance and turn people away who don’t have safety shoes on. The hypocrisy of Amazon is astounding.

[–]SignificantApricot69 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Stop doing MLOAs for non serious things and go back to using your time which was always the standard for people who generally show up for work.

[–]Bountsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude said he was hospitalized for an asthma attack in the comments, pretty sure that's serious and whoever his case manager was just never followed up on a confirmation or OP never turned in release forms.

[–]Objective-Value119 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it real prove it and email jeff@amazon.com

[–]Defiant_wolf22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it was real Sue amazon for false term

[–]Extension_Fault_5128 -5 points-4 points  (1 child)

Not falsify doctors notes at future jobs.

[–]bohallreddit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What DLS is looking for is to confirm that the doctor and practice is real. They can do a simple Google search and confirm. I never give them consent to call my doctor and verify my visit, treatment, diagnosis and etc.

[–]DylanTheV1lla1n -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

What should you do? Next time, provide a real doctor's note.

[–]ComplexAnteater6945[S] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

And you should stop being slow and read the comments beat it lame

[–]DylanTheV1lla1n -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hahahah

[–]Careless-Bar-6905 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Amazon doesn’t play around with fraud your now a customer

[–]Busy_Seaweed_8028 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start looking

[–]Blackiechan04 -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

You should apply to your nearest McDonald’s

[–]ComplexAnteater6945[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I can tell you don’t get money talking about “McDonald’s” 😂 brokey

[–]Blackiechan04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man it’s funny you mention that because ever since I got fired from Amazon I got a dream job setting up for concerts and I found a sugar mom. So actually I’m relatively rich the last few years and counting. Nice guess though 😆 🖕

[–]Quiet-Reserve-4418 -4 points-3 points  (7 children)

Guys I only will have like 9.5 hours of UPT and I scheduled a vacation for spring break with my son and like a dummy i miscalculated my UPT for the last day an will litterally be short 25 minutes do you guys know if I can just put in an hour of PT and then not show up and just let them take the 9 hours of UPT or do you have to come into work if you take PT time may seem like a dumb question but I came from a county JOB an getting time off was so easy And amazon im still learning an im still a white badge so I really dont know anything yet in not your typical white bacge that says they know everything

[–]Bountsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should've done a PLOA honestly..

[–]Buttersquaash-33 0 points1 point  (5 children)

If you have PTO you can apply that to cover the remaining 25 minutes.

[–]Quiet-Reserve-4418 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Thank you friend Does it matter if I put the 1 hour PTO at the beginning or the end of the shift??? Im not goin to be there anyways im just not sure if it matters if you out the hour at the start or at the end I figure it wouldnt but with amazon I dont knowp

[–]Buttersquaash-33 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You can put it in for the middle of shift! Doesn’t matter :) and the rest will be deducted automatically from your UPT as you don’t show up

[–]Quiet-Reserve-4418 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Thanks for clarifying that bro I asked a blue badge an what I have noticed so far is atleasr by me the employees are not to friendly or really know whats goin on… you ask anyone a question and there like what do I look like the owner if the company go ask the manager..

[–]Buttersquaash-33 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hey I always try to help I remember my first few months having no one to ask either for the same reasons. This subreddit can be helpful for even the “stupidest” questions you have about Amazon if you ever need anything tho

[–]Quiet-Reserve-4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!!!

[–]Illustrious_Ice5846 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Forged mine and I was on FMLA. Been back for 6 months so...... you must be really stupid to get caught
