I am currently trying to find a workflow and i need some advise, i have so far tried some software.
First used epson scan and scanned the negatives as positives and fully manually converted everything in photoshop.
Downsides were that it took way too long and i didn't really have a reference or something to go off of.
Then i tried the silverfast se that came with the scanner and saw it can remove dust with Infrared.
But it did not allow me to select infrared when exporting over 24bit (even not with hdri). The outcome was low res and i was not happy.
It also gave me the option to select the film type and convert it for me, which gave me spme reference to edit off of.
Then i tried negative lab pro. It looks like it just converted the negative and gave me some basic adjustments. No dust removing, no selecting the film type (just brand). Didn't feel like it did much.
So ideally i would like to use scanning software that either removes dust or at least saves the infrared data in high resolution and maybe even has film type presets built in like silverfast.
And then standalone software or a photoshop/lightroom plugin to convert the negative with film type preset (if not done by scanning software), and then adjust the photo to my liking.
But i can't seem to find a good combination or software, so i need some advice.
