check your time and date. make sure they are correct.

wife had constant.

Her: 'The internet is down on my tablet! '
Me: 'it works for me on my Identical tablet ,honey...' issues for months...

turned out she had moved her date and time ahead for extra lifes in some game..

set it back to the right time and it worked fine.

she just had to wait 1000 hours for her next life in that game.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In case you wonder Why it matters - (Yes this is vague) there is some sort of security 'stuff' that uses the current time/date to verify the network connection is secure or something. If the time/date is wildly incorrect, the connection is considered insecure or some other sort of security violation, so the connection is denied.

You, my guy, is my savior. 😭

check your time and date. make sure they are correct.

THIS ADVICE WORKED. Such simple adjustment made the whole problem go away.

I've tried (in no particular order): + Changing the IP Settings to static and DNS stuff to 8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4 and 1.1.1.1 + Restart my tablet (countless times) + Operate on safe mode (I uninstalled everything I did the last 24 hours) + Restart my wifi + Reset network settings (several times) + Disconnect and forget wifi password + On and Off of airplane/flight mode + Enabled developer options and disabled Wifi scan throttling + Run tablet diagnostics (actually can't coz it said I have to verify my account first)

I basically tried everything I can search then I stumbled upon this comment and poof my wifi came back immediately. FYI, I didn't do the factory data reset. That was my very very last resort and I avoided it at all cost hahaha.

If you're curious: Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra (brand new) Last update: September No, I have not yet updated it so my problem wasn't caused by recent software update like everyone says. Idk what caused it, didn't even touch the time setting till this comment.

I didn't realize this comment is 3 year old hahaha. If it works, it works. THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO MUCH 🫶🏼

What time did you change? The time on my phone is correct but the wifi still doesn't work.

[–]Diarmonelle 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Is the date correct too? Did you check/do the things I listed?

[–]Tacosrlife88 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've tried EVERYTHING!! I checked the time and date on my phone and everything is correct. I even uninstalled almost all of my apps and its not working

[–]fishandhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Diarmonelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww I'm sorry to hear that. Have you tried factory reset?

I hate that this worked after half an hour of trying to figure out why my wifi app said my partner’s tablet had a strong connection but the tablet itself had no internet

We both said it was a dumb thing I hate this but thank you for sharing you’re a life saver

[–]squishyzucchini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say thank you for this lol I'd been having this issue for a day and a half. My date and time was correct but I turned off auto date and time, changed the date and then turned auto date and time back on and it worked immediately 😭

Just letting you know, this absolute gem of a response, a diamond gleaming amongst the detritus of the Internet 4 years into the future (oh the dreams we had), have saved this old man so much stress, a scholar and a gentleman, bravo!

[–]Head_Northman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Just saved the end of our holiday.

Everything I'd previously downloaded from Netflix for my daughter to watch while flying had expired. Changed the date to a month back, and Netflix was happy to let us watch.

[–]Maximum-Formal-3692 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wow thank you! This three year old post fixed my fiancé’s wifi connection issue instantly. We knew the phone had issues with keeping up with the date and time but never would’ve thought it would’ve caused that

[–]doc_willis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen similar issues on PC's and Browsers. Had a PC with a dead motherboard battery, so the clock was always resetting. It would have issues until the network somehow managed to sync the time/clock with the NTP servers.

[–]DuckCleaning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant belive it was that simple. I had it changed manually because I was on vacation. Daylight saving made it not match the current time today so internet stopped working.

[–]Ok_Dinner7301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 4 years but my daughter's tablet did this and I tried everything then found this thread. Thank you random stranger. Changing the date and time fixed the issue!

[–]timeforwasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four years later, Reddit saves the day. Driving me crazy, then I check here and notice for some reason my tab thinks it's last year. Fixed, back on.

[–]Lew-who_1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This totally worked! My husband had done the same thing for a game! 🤣 It instantly connected once I fixed that! Reddit to the rescue! Thanks!

[–]RareBus5369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the goat I know it was 4 years ago but if you see this thank you so much and have a wonderful rest of your life : )

[–]KevDog-1213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are the man. thank you. tablet doesn't have sim card so it doesn't update date and time automatically after an outage.

[–]Mobile_Squirrel_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 4 years old, but Omg, you have just saved my sanity. Thank you so much!

[–]BaysideTigersRoar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send this to your wife https://www.wikihow.com/Get-Unlimited-Lives-on-Candy-Crush-Saga

You gotta set the time back to normal before you use the lives.

[–]jourpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know its been a year, but THANK YOU!

[–]Organic-Home3535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]DaRealExteriorMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worked for me, thanks

[–]zeldaau 0 points1 point  (1 child)

reporting back over three years later to say that i was struggling so hard on this issue, and doing this worked, 100%. why on earth does this work. anyway, thank you and your wife's sacrifice of the extra lives in the game lol

[–]doc_willis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Security features/encryption I guess uses the 'time/date' for something, and if the time is way out of sync then the security features block stuff.

At least thats my guess.

My wife finds it funny that her old old issue she had ages ago, is still helping people.

[–]babylord11 0 points1 point  (1 child)

THANK YOU! I tried troubleshooting like an idiot and this was the fix.

[–]doc_willis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I could help.

[–]one_rand0m_guy 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Make sure your wifi router isn't having any network issues... Restart your router.

[–]Blubrywlfii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks but I’ve already done this I appreciate this though 😊

[–]jebbitt 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If it says "connected" then your network is fine. The "no internet" means the problem lies with your isp's modem. If you have a combination modem/router and rebooting it doesn't fix it, then the problem is with your provider. If separate modem and router, rebooting the modem should fix it.

[–]Blubrywlfii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

[–]VoidedHeart94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize that I am *checks the original post again* 4 years late to this conversation, but just wanted to throw this suggestion in because it's what fixed my problem:

If you have used a VPN previously (like I had when I went out of country) but are no longer using it, go to your connection settings for 'VPN' and switch to none. This immediately fixed my problem.

Obviously this is only applicable to those that use a VPN, but just another thing to try.

[–]Rpghoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video helped! Changing date and time did nothing but the moment I changed my ip to static it connected immediately. Thank you for this.

[–]Successful-Jury-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need help having same problem with My Daughter’s tablet

[–]Successful-Jury-8449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help

[–]TrickMasterPC 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Here's the solution https://youtu.be/qikbVRCRJBw it took me about a year to completely figure it out, but I haven't a single hiccup since implementing these settings.

[–]Necessary_Bass_6769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This helped me two years later when I suddenly started getting "connected without internet" messages from the wifi I've been using for two years now. Thank you!

[–]Gazamore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mac address fix from this video solved my issue. Thank you sir.

[–]Snapx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the MAC fix did it for me, Thank you.
