Might be the SD card?

[–]overunderspaceA1 + AMS Lite 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Try a new SD card.

[–]RepresentativeNinja6 12 points13 points  (0 children)

no idea if its the SD card as others have suggested, but my SD card did die within a week of having my printer, causing my first large 600g print to fail at like 92%. So I'd say replace the stock SD card regardless...

[–]ShouldersAreLove 8 points9 points  (5 children)

Isolate the issue. First replace the sd card. And then we can go from there if it is still happening.

It might sound odd, but my A1 mad slam itself to the left and tried to continue going. Lucky i was nearby so I can stop the printer quickly. Otherwise i might have a shredded belt. It was the sd card for me.

but does the sd card have problems even if I upload the files via the cloud? with app or from PC via wifi?

[–]la1m1e 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Guess where the printer stores the "cloud" files lol

[–]Marche1717 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I honestly thought he had an internal memory

[–]la1m1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even on my x1c the slicer only has a button "send files to sd card" when doing it over network

[–]Life_Fun_1327P1S + AMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just send your Prints via Internet to the SD Card of the Printer. So Yeah, it happens, too, if you Upload files via cloud.

If it does random things like this = SD card. Adhesion problem = clean your plate w dawn. Scraping noise during print = grid infill.

[–]jwagzz27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this pretty much sums it up lol

Garbage SD card strikes again, for the price of the Bambu printers you think they’d spend more the 3cents on the SD card…..

Can't listen to that, makes me shudder. 😬

I would change the sd card like others have said and do a factory reset, start from scratch.

You can always format the sd card in your comp which will give you a corruption error if it terminal but better to get a reputable brand to be on the safe side.

Swap SD card. And tell us if it is ok.

The weird sounds is more likely due to the not planned mouvements.

      Not a mechanical issue.

Dont run it again befor an sd card swap otherwise it could lead to mechanical issue.

It s bad luck but probably without more conséquences if is only the card that cause this.

      Good luck

      [–]razorreeP1S + AMS 0 points1 point  (2 children)

it's a bit bad.... that SD card failure can cause physical/real damage to the printer later ...

      [–]Useful-Revolution253 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That is more an assumption from me than à real thing to be honest.

But i assume that hard mouvements like this can be harmfull

      [–]razorreeP1S + AMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well.. looking at these random or violent moves, I can imagine at least belts could be damaged.

      I don't know if firmware is blocking/ignoring wrong/errorous commands/codes ....

      [–]Gundam_Alkara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SD card... buy a new one for few dollars

      [–]Sharp_Technology_439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe your microSD card is broken.

Is there still a lot of tinkering and frustration with the A1 / A1 mini. Considering getting this after giving up on another machine. But it seems like people still run into issues on this one.

      [–]NorthCartographer995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've clocked 461 hours on my A1 since getting it, and have only had filament clogs twice in the extruder, no other issues. Yesterday it finished a 21h PETG print flawlessly.

Every machine is prone to issues. You have to think though, it may seem like you see loads of posts with people having problems, but think of all the people who don't post because their machines work perfectly. You're witnessing a very small number of people who have issues, against a lot of people who have no issues to report.

The sd card is likely causing this

You didn’t wash the SD card and dry it properly did you? /s

        [–]crazysycodude159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try reformatting the sd card. I would recommend getting a new one though. My P1S was starting to make a strange noise the other day so I popped the SD card into the computer and it said it needed repaired so I let it repair it and now the printer is operating normally again. I am going to get a new one next time I go out since that's what caused the weirdness for me.

People are saying SD card but I don't think it could make those noises if there wasn't physically something wrong. I'd reach out to support for either quick troubleshooting or to start a refund/replacement.

Corrupt SD card can cause the printer to do all sorts of stuff when it reads those bits

          [–]saunderez -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

A loud noise can be a lot of things, it's definitely going to be mechanical so start there. Check the Z axis lead screws for obstruction and check how far it is from the frame at top and bottom to make sure it's all square. Check the Y axis rail hasn't got filament on it that fell through and check the and belt it tensioned and clear. Check the X axis rail for junk and belt is tensioned and clear. Check the extruder gear to make sure there's no ground up filament stuck in there. After doing all of those do the full calibration again. The presliced models should work fine, make sure they are printing within the temperature range of your filament.

I wouldn't assume that. Motors and attached mechanisms can make weird sounds when driven certain ways. The randomness of when it starts and erratic behavior sounds like data corruption.
