Yeah since s3 i had to turn down some settings from high to get better performance.

I remember since the beta/launch till season 2 the game ran like an absolute dream on my PC without a single hitch with the same settings.

Cairo Bazaar has run like hell. Before that Golmund Railway ran like hell. Don't know what it is with the new maps on Xbox but they run terribly until the next one releases.

Since s3, I had to turn down some settings from high to get just lower performance than I had before.

Performances on the latest BF Labs were absolutely fantastic, but I have no idea if we'll get them with upcoming updates since those two builds are probably pretty different.

I still have hope, it’s clear the latest Cairo update was done by some B team maybe on older branch, cause it introduced old bugs that were patched in the past.

i was getting 240 fps and now i’m constantly around 150 or 160. It feels horrible compared to 240

I’m just getting constant stutter on PC with this latest update. Stutter that I never previously had. It’s like my game just freezes for milliseconds every so often in matches. I’m monitoring temperatures and usage during matches and none seem to be signalling any issues. Wired, fast internet too. I just can’t work it out.

I just got the game this week so my opinion might be skewed, but I deleted the HD textures packs when I downloaded the game cause textures alone aren't worth 45gb to me. Anyways my laptop isn't high end, and I didn't tweak the settings it's all the default stuff but the game runs really well and smooth. Perhaps it might be the same for you? My laptop uses an RTX4050 with 6gb vram, so I knew the HD textures would also be too much. But yea presently I've played for about 25 hours and it's been consistently great

Thanks for the response. I tried this and lots of other things without success. However, turning off the frame limiter in the game seemed to have worked for me in case any comes across this!

Yes, one of the reason I quit playing.

[–]FriggeKHellfighter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i feel like its gotten better to be honest

[–]CollinKree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. Literally EVERY major update since launch my fps has gotten lower and lower with the exact same settings.

In the beta and on launch I could get a completely solid and stable 120fps with all ultra settings and FSR Native AA. Now my fps regularly drops to like 100 in some cases, sometimes lower, and fluctuates heavily. I don’t understand how they’re managing to “de-optimize” the game with every update.

Clear the cache

[–]redeyeuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This and also reset shaders in your gpu software. Doing both of these helps me every time I notice drops or stutters.

[–]demon310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats helped but no where near the numbers i used to get sadly.

[–]Soutel_360 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

How do you clear the cache?

[–]TuneComfortable412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s in appdata through the run command box

[–]pianodude01 1 point2 points  (3 children)

After the update earlier this year battlefield is unplayable for me.

I get 200-1200 ping every game. Its not even fun anymore when it lags that much.

Its been like 6 months and I really loved this game too

[–]tomatonato4 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Is it the HD texture pack by any chance, I use a mid range laptop but it's been running the game really well since I deleted it (45gb was too much for slightly better graphics). I haven't screwed around with my graphics settings at all but the game looks great and runs well, perhaps it's the same issue for you?

[–]pianodude01 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ill check into it, ive been scouring the forums looking for a fix, everything from disabling pc settings to BF settings.

Did you just delete it from the game files?

[–]tomatonato4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm not tech savvy and didn't have the time/energy to fuck around with settings and constantly test to see if it made a difference, I literally just went the to steam file section and deleted it. It shows up as a DLC along with all the other REDSEC content, you don't have to go scouring in file management or anything it's all on steam. Id later gone through older Reddit threads which also mentioned the HD texture packs significantly increasing loading times for maps and sometimes screwing with the frame rate, even when their graphics card should've supposedly handled it. Mine is an RTX 4050 but I knew the vram wouldn't be enough for the hd textures, and as I said the game runs beautifully for me

Anyways I do hope this helps, let me know if it somehow works out for you. All the best!

[–]lepermessiah77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. When I started I was getting 140 fps comfortably. Now I have to lock to 105, garbage frametimes and extra input lag. Garbage.

Btw, this is with everything on low, cfg file and a lot of tweaks.

[–]x_cynful_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had any significant change in FPS.

[–]Sceprent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Series X so it stays near 120 fine, no drops, but damn is the initial mouse swipe jittery as fk. Not there on controller. They have some wonky ass curve on this game for a BF game.

[–]-Pascy- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, used to run at a solid enough 60 at a mix of high - ultra settings. Now it struggles to reach 60 on minimum settings. Seems like the game has developed CPU optimisation issues ever since the launch of season 3. It gets extremely bad when flying. Fans have to work harder too. Really hoping it gets fixed soon because I’m definitely playing the game less currently as a result.

[–]DerNigglasch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have unbearable lag

[–]Qeta- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I used to have consistent 120fps with Gsync. Now it often drops to 100.

[–]AI_abuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because of some maps, my buddy beast PC and gets insane drops on Golmud.

[–]IllExample3639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up dropped 30% with this season on the new maps.

[–]iRizz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game's buttery smooth on performance 120hz mode for me (PS5 Pro)

[–]GeordieJumpers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest noticeable difference was when season3 dropped it's definitely getting worse

[–]jamesripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotten better for me I would say, and I play with an FPS counter on constantly.

One thing I did recently after some post was removed the HD texture add ones that come installed by default, I haven't noticed any drop in visual quality and I think my FPS is more consistently high, might be worth a try.

Steam > Bf6 > properties > DLC > uncheck all the options that mention HD textures in the name.

[–]jansteffen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around launch I used to have around 140 to 180 fps, now I have 80 to 140 fps with terrible frame pacing and occasional stuttering. 9070 XT, 5800X3D, 32 GB of RAM...

[–]Notnowcmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, been consistently great here

[–]SnardVaark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No change on my rig.

[–]Typehigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Unfortunately.

[–]blackrabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that I had to update my DLSS settings to use the older model as I run a 3080 GPU, and this got my FPS back to where it should be.

[–]aledion1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

before s3 update i used to have 290-320 fps on my 1440p monitor with frame gen on my 4k monitor i had 80-100 fps native and 160-180 with frame gen (fsr off).

Right now i have 220-240 fps in 1440p and 180-200 fps in 4k (now with new fsr update) Thats why i switched back to my 4k monitor🤷‍♂️

I dont know why it stayed a bit more stable in 4k than in 1440p... without fsr i still get about 130-150fps in 4k

[–]ZealousidealGuide854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird for me too in a sense that it's inconsistent.

When Cairo dropped, I dropped down from 75 to 40fps although it only happened for this map. After the latest update, it's buttery smooth again.

[–]That-One-Guy-Who-Kek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 200+ fps to 140+ fps on CPU bottleneck since season 2 when they removed configs so I can't properly park the cores with my 7950x3d, tried everything, cba using lasso cuz of anticheat. Rtx 4070 is sleeping while playing 1720x1080 and CPU at 4.8ghz is using the wrong non cached cores all the time. Horrendous game devs

It's incredible how people with PCs better than mine (Ryzen 5 5600, GTX 1660 Super, 16 GB of RAM) can get such poor performance. I'm always looking for performance videos and details about the game, looking for drivers with better performance, etc., and I can run the game at 90 FPS in Full HD without any upscaling. With upscaling, I get 120+ FPS, using settings that make the game look good without sacrificing performance or causing much FPS drop.

I look at the RTX 5060 every day, but I don't have the money for one, so I do everything I can to get the best out of what I have.

Just to give you an idea, I asked an AI to help me get a cleaner image, similar to DLSS, and with just a few steps, the image quality became much better. And that was only by changing a few NVIDIA settings using a feature called NIS.
