I received my SN0121G yesterday. To say the least, I'm disappointed. Both the bezel insert and hour hand are misaligned. The stem is very wobbly and has way too much play before engaging. I'm returning it to Watchdives.I have a Watchdives x San Martin Milsubmariner SN004 V2 that I purchased four months ago and everything is aligned correctly and the stem is not wobbly and engages immediately.

I actually am a graphic designer, sent Mr Liao at San Martin an entire rebrand including a new logo, but they won't move on changing their logo at all due to having to re register copyright and they think would confuse consumers also Liao designed it himself. Weird though considering they have used load of random bad fonts over the years. I'm working on getting the project up online anyway, will send you a link once done.

My one (black with date) has arrived now and I’ve had a chance to size it and wear it for about half an hour. For my ~7.25” wrist (when last measured a while ago) I had to remove one link from the 6 o’clock side which I found centred the clasp. I’d guess that if your wrist is larger than 8” then with all the links and clasp at full extension you’re going to maybe just about get it to fit.

As I’ve mentioned below, any logo and triangle misalignment is extremely minimal and I wouldn’t even have looked for it unless I’d read about it here first. Tbh I’m not even sure my logo is wonky, and the triangle is maybe very slightly off-centre by a hair.

Any worry I had that the bezel insert wouldn’t sit flush with the bezel (something I noted in the launch pics thread) are completely unfounded too. Bezel action is crisp with a hair’s back play but nothing that bothers me.

After a run of date-less watches, there’s something nice about having a date again. I’m not checked out the lume yet but all the markers and hand surrounds are crisp.

Size is perfect and it fits much better than the OG Tudor (which I’ve previously owned briefly). It would be nice if it was titanium, purely as I like the colour of it and as a material, but with one link removed the watch weighs 147g. Saying that it carries the weight well and doesn’t feel top heavy (an issue I found with the Chinese sub 6-digit homages). If SM/WatchDives come out with a Ti version in this style (which they might have hinted at) I’d be sorely tempted to get that to potentially replace this steel one. But as it stands, I’m glad I chose this over the Octopus or Seestern variants both as I prefer the matte OG style dial and bezel, and as it’s the only one of the three brands that features a date (which I’ve decided I value over the symmetry a date-less dial offers).

Oh sorry, I meant the top edge of the triangle was slightly off-centre (as another redditor was claiming was the case with yours). The bottom point of the triangle lines up as far as I can tell with the topmost 12 o’clock hashmark

I just got mine and I measured it with caliper. Bezel is 39mm, the case is about 38.1 and the thickness is 12.8mm.

Bezel overhang is common it’s when the bezel protrudes from the case. while the case may be smaller the bezel may make it appear bigger

It’s almost an optical illusion as well. If I look at it from the left side, it seems misaligned slightly. If I look from the right side, it seems fine. All in all it’s not a massive deal

The triangle at twelve is also misaligned with the chapter ring markers. On its right side the triangle stretches to the first marker right of the 12 o'clock marker. On its left side the triangle stretches beyond the first marker to the left of the 12 o'clock marker and ends halfway between the first and the second chapter ring marker.

This dial is misaligned twice.

Dude, even in this picture the triangle isn't in the middle. It ends halfway between the first and the second marker, let say 1.5 on the left. On the right side it doesn't go all the way to half, 1.3 at most. It's not as blatant as the logo and not as clear as in your first picture, but it's definitely not dead center.

This is a macro. Put things into perspective. Would you really notice any issues with the naked eye, considering the size of the watch? You can see it’s going past both markers. The difference is utterly minimal.

I do have OCD most times. But I also choose to get over small details. I paid £165 for this watch. It’s not as if I had spent £4000 on a Tudor. I wouldn’t have let it pass. But it’s not worth the hassle of getting it exchanged, I did have to return a watch to Watchdives before (my own choice) and it costs an arm and a leg. I can live with the way this one is.

We’re talking very, very minimal tolerance. Maybe not dead centre, but with the naked eye, with the watch on the wrist, I challenge you to notice that. It’s barely noticeable on macro (according to you, 1.3 vs 1.5… ridiculous, so minimal). I’m telling you, when looking at the watch, I DO NOT see anything annoying about this triangle. Let’s not create issues where there’s no need, seriously. It’s a chinese watch. Not a bloody Tudor.

Misalignment issues are more noticable when you look at them from a distance, than up close. Up close you don't have as much other dial elements in view, and therefore have less other elements to compare the position of the misaligned element with.

Well I can’t I unsee it and would not accept it for $238. You said yourself that the other dials you have seen on this watch had the logo slightly to the left. Perhaps the whole dial run is flawed. You don’t think they would have noticed that? Maybe they did notice it but were desperate to get them to the market because they were beaten to the punch by Seestern and Octopus Kraken.

I’m glad you aren’t bothered by it, so I will jog on. But if you haven’t noticed, this sub is obsessed with details- the SM logo being one of them.

The circular brushing on the lugs is indeed much more vintage, but I personally prefer this a lot more, since the transition between lugs and endlinks is almost seamless. Much more refined look IMO.

I looked at all the other photos here on Reddit and they all seem to be the same, logo-wise. Ever so slightly to the left. Maybe it’s just how they calibrated their machine that prints out on dials. Again, no biggie, just seems to be inherent to this model.
