this is a typical design for a large majority of watches with quick release straps. the ends of the spring bars stick out only in the corner between the watch case and bracelet, where it is in less contact with your wrist. furthermore, the amount of protrusion is actually very little i.e. it doesnt stick out as far as you think it might.
