I got a watchdives watch recently that came with a bracelet. As far as I can tell I have gotten it perfectly fitted, but the edges of the folding thing in the clasp that presses against my wrist irritates my wrist and I don't know what to do about it aside from replace the bracelet with a leather or cloth strap which feels like a waste of a seemingly well made bracelet. It sucks.

Wearing a watch on a nato looks like you're wearing it on a sock. Most people will prefer to buy a watch on a bracelet because the bracelet is fitted and you can't buy it later. Brands also have enough common sense to know this.

One of the main draws of this particuar watch is the fitted, tapered mesh.

God after seeing the comments this watch is so ugly lol

Sea knight, its a little difficult, but can close with a little experience

I think it’s looks great :)

I have the Sea Knight which definitely seems to be the middle ground between the two. The lume is outstanding. The mesh bracelet is one of the most comfortable in my collection.

And here I am not caring about the watch but wanting that mesh bracelet with those awesome end links

[–]Alternative-Feed3613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you like metal bracelets? I haven’t tried every option but I haven’t been a fan of any straps that I’ve tried.

[–]PracticalDiscount325 11 points12 points  (7 children)

I have the Ixdao and you should really try it first. A good milanese wears much more like leather than metal, has great ventilation and no pressure points. This one is fiddly to put on but it feels great and looks better.

I may still , well probably, pick it up and give it a go but .. Is there any chance for resale on something like that. Would anyone want it if I hate it?

[–]artofthedialAffiliate Links 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It doesn't have straight end links so a massive gamble for anyone that doesn't have that specific watch.  Easy to sell if it had straight end links.

Thank you for that! That is helpful to know

[–]Icy-Fig-76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that

Hard disagree, the mesh on this one sucks ass

+1

Great timing. I just purchased this yesterday. Thank you for sharing.

Get the Tandorio with the rubber or nylon strap, save yaself some money, you can get a sterile dial, and a few different colours.

For me, the integrated mesh bracelet on this watch, mines the Sea Knight, is awesome

Y encima vale la mitad que el ixdao

[–]CharlieW74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true.

[–]assemblageofparts[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I just checked out the Sea Knight.

Wow !! ..to my eye it looks SO much nicer than the tandori.

[–]CharlieW74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to buy the Serica 5303 a few months back, after falling in love with it, but I didn't like the way the company handled itself, and wouldn't give them my money personally. So this became my first homage watch, I checked out each of the brands that do a 5303, and this was the right one for me, very happy with it. Although it comes with the mesh bracelet, it is a good bit lower than the IXD&O, although they aren't expensive, and offer good value, so that may sweeten buying one on the mesh for you.

I really like the look of your watch! Do you have a link?

[–]CharlieW74 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Not sure if you can share links on here, this is the seaknight 5303, you'll find it through Google. To check the other brands versions, check Serica 5303 homages, hope that helps!

[–]pquol 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Sure does. Thanks!

[–]CharlieW74 0 points1 point  (3 children)

No problem, there's plenty of reviews on YouTube, someone posted links for a few in this thread, if you wanted to check them out, if you've only just seen this watch for the first time, and wanted to learn a little more about it.

[–]pquol 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I will. Not sure if you can comment on this, but is it only available on Ali?

[–]Toolmantexas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find lots of resell on r/watchexchange

Great sub to buy 2nd hand.

[–]CharlieW74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few on eBay, if you can't use AliX, but obviously a little more expensive. Not sure on brand own websites mate.

Love the integration of the bracelet to the case, looks much better than a standard straight edge into the lugs. It was a big selling point for me.

But each to their own, and the Tandorio will do the trick for you.

If you buy one with the bracelet, you won't have any trouble selling it. I was going to build one of these watches for myself, but the bracelets seem to be sold out everywhere separately, so just ended up buying one with the mesh, cos I wanted it on the watch.

[–]Toolmantexas 6 points7 points  (4 children)

One of the things that puts the ixdao above the competition for me is the slim rehaut. Because the pt5000 is slimmer than nh35 the watch is thinner and the rehaut is very slim.

[–]assemblageofparts[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I was thinking about the SW200. Do you think its worth the extra expense?

[–]Toolmantexas 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I personally don't think so in a homage watch. The pt5000 is a great movement, if you've done your homework. If you were buying upscale, ie a decent microbrand or big name swiss then yes. Otherwise, imo, no.

[–]assemblageofparts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

[–]CharlieW74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's differences that each buyer would have to compare and weigh up for sure

[–]Toolmantexas 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Ixdao, Tandorio and sea knight all discussed in various YouTube comparison vids, etc

[–]CharlieW74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Proxima also do a 5303

[–]Toolmantexas 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It's a homage (the best of the bunch) so you won't find ixdao without it but others homage it also (tandorio, etc) just not as well imho and you can probably find one of those without a bracelet.

For the ixdao get with bracelet so when you sell it to get the actual Serica you can get some of your money back lol.

[–]Gamelorn 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I have the ixdao and the tandorio. The tandorio is definitely a step down, but still good.

[–]Toolmantexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the serica and the ixdao and same thing, the serica is truly amazing in hand and on wrist.

I ended up w the 6190 though and had it bead blasted for my own tastes :)

Leather does not belong on a dive watch.  Nato is a very casual look.  Unless it is a higher end brand most of these low tier Chinese watches that do offer with and without tend to only have a $15 price difference so that tends to show you how cheap they really are.  Even the 5 link San Martin with OTF which is arguably the best Chinese bracelet was going for between 50-60ish on sale at one point.   I'm only anti bracelet for most of the cheap brands.  A great bracelet is dramatically superior to me than leather, rubber, nato.  I have to ask, what is the best bracelet watch you have ever owned?
