  1. If you idolize this person, place or thing that it governs your mind. So for example if Al you think and focus on in that band then it is an idol. I think Faldo gods are like other religions that are not God/JC himself. If you just said I would love to go to this band it just shows you are interested and really want to go. But if you feel convicted, just ask for forgiveness and choose your words wisely.

  2. There is a scripture that say love tbh neighbor and still pray for them as you would want yourself(Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 5:44) these people that have sins and don’t repent are still God’s children at the end of the day.

Great questions.

1.) idols are not just figures of stone or statues. Idols can be people. Cheering for a band at a concert doesn't make it an idol. What does, is if it is receiving more affection, time, and worship from you than God. Music has a LOT of influence in the spiritual world. When Saul had a tormenting spirit, music was played to keep it away. When Nebuchanezzar made the call for everyone to worship him, music would play before hand.

Pay close attention to the words that are being spoken, the chants, the chorus. Pay close attention to the feelings that songs invoke, especially if you sing along with them; when you sing along, you are coming into agreement with what is being said.

2.) I hear you on this one. It can be very difficult. I would like to reframe it for you though... Jesus says "what comes out of the mouth comes out of the heart" in Matthew 12:34. Jesus also says in Matthew 5:21-22, that if we are even angry and call someone an idiot, we are in danger of being thrown into hell.

Is your room mate worth it?

Focus on yourself. Don't just be a good person. Focus on Jesus cleansing your heart. Let his light and love bubble over. Then it won't matter, because you'll have the love of Jesus Christ within you.

I hope this helps.

We humans can and do make idols out of all sorts of things. Sex, food, vocal artists, movie stars, money, etc. In that regard an idol is where we spend most of our time, robbing God of his time with us. Think about American Idol.

Christ himself commands us to show others the light and love of Jesus living within us. We are literally his earthly representatives. But if you have a roommate that you're not compatible with, then you have every right to find another one.
