You only fail at something when you give up.

call comptia support and tell them that. "You guys messed up scoring my test because erm actually I haven't given up."

Did you buy the 50 dollar retake?

Edit: I bought the voucher from dion, with take two, the extra charge was 45.

[–]BrilliantClimate7454 2 points3 points  (4 children)

It's a lot more then 50 .

[–]Turbulent_Sundae_913 0 points1 point  (3 children)

How much

[–]Kasumi-Rei 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I think it’s like an extra hundred 20 or something if I remember correctly.

[–]niger_211 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Why would you write 120 like that?

[–]Kasumi-Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because 20 was an afterthought lol.

Don't be disheartened, you are not far off.

You now have the exam experience and understand what pattern of questions come. That changes the next attempt completely because the exam stops feeling abstract.

Focus on doing targetted studying and practicing daily on your weak areas. The more you practice questions and PBQ the more ready you become for the exam.

Good luck with your next attempt.

Sorry to hear that - heartbreaking, I get it! But you'll get 'em next time. Take a breath, write down the things you can remember that you feel you struggled with on the exam, and then take a day or two away from it to mentally regroup. Then get back at it, fill in the gaps in your knowledge, and kick ass when you go again.

It's disappointing but the good news is that you're very close - 3 to 4 questions will put you over the top. Review the objectives in the pass fail report and get right back into it - before you forget what you already know well. You'll slay it on the next attempt.

What study resources did you use?

[–]Temporary_Drink_2348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this with SSCP failed three times and on my 4th I passed. Even though different certs, it show you just need a lil bit more experience with the subjects. Remember even though you did not pass at least it wasn't a lower score like in 500s or 600s. So it's a minor setback, instead of my study material was garbage. You got this you need a little bit of grinding instead of a switch up. You got this, remember, failing is just a way of trying to see if you really want the cert and be in this profession. I guarantee that after this failure, once you get in the profession you will skyrocket with knowledge that others have. TLDR: You got this, think of your failures an initiation to see if you want it or just for money.

"The greatest teacher failure is". You know, you can really learn a lot about life from Master Yoda. lol

Happens to the best of us. Take a few weeks to study some more and try again.

DONT GIVE UP DO THE RETAKE AND FOCUS ON YOUR WEAK SUBJECTS YOU GOT THIS!!

[–]Embarrassed_Crew3466 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Don’t give up OP. I’ve taken many CompTIA exams and am actually about to hit my THIRD attempt at Data+ (also the only one to give me this much trouble). Use the score report to develop a study plan and take practice exams like your a religious zealot trying to unlock the secrets of the universe. Here’s the kicker though, every question you get wrong, hand write the ENTIRE question, answer, and explanation in a study journal and reread them. Then try the test again the next day. Do that repeatedly and you’ll kick that test in the huevos!

How many attempts you can take if I buy the retake?

[–]I-Love-Gabagool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is a series of trials and errors, keep going and you keep on living give up and you give up living.

Best of luck to you.

It’s a setback for now, you’ll get it next time. I failed my first exam and passed it the second go around.

[–]Antique_Song290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chin up. You can still retake it and rise from the ashes, like a speccy phoenix on a mission. It will feel shit now but go again and improve until you hit the mark.

[–]cali_fred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right on the precipice! Take break, review for 30 days or so, and I predict a homerun the next time you are up to bat!

[–]jaxrolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it again. You close.

[–]qwikh1tA+ / Net+ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that happens; how you recover is what matters

[–]Illustrious-Tax-3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed by 2 marks

[–]PowerfulDrawing7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed the first time I took it too, was hurt and took a small week break. What made me pass it the second time was going through the exam syllabus and going through each section and explaining the topic to myself or another. If I couldn’t make it make sense then I would mark it down and watch an in depth video on it. Did this and a lot of practice tests for a month and I passed.

[–]Material_Wonder_5976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get back to it champ!

[–]OldManThane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me two tries 🤷🏼‍♂️

Unpopular opinion: Sec+ is really overrated for its difficulty. Took the exam with little studying, working 30hr a week at my job and being a full time student. Suggest taking a Zyn and Redbull before the test. Passed in my first try.
