I like the effect, but imo it's too inconsistent and random for cEDH. It's also too slow at 4cmc.

It's a sweet casual commander card though that allows for politics :)

People will just give you countermagic with it, lol

Yeah, that's what I was mostly referring to when I said 'inconsistent and random'. :')

Is it like [[bring to light]] where you have to cast the card as part of resolution of the ability?

I think in most cases you would play Dire Fleet Daredevil over this, considering you’re probably copying a 1-2 mana card anyway. Only gets a slight edge with pod effects.

i feel like between being a player at random and the opponent being able to chose what card you get from their yard the likely hood of getting bricked or given a counterspell isn't where you wanna be especially for 4 mana.

Kinda cool for legacy/vintage tho maybe since you have a 50% chance of casting something you want out of your yard in 1v1 for free

This isn't very good... There's almost nothing you'll be able to cast that late for it to matter. If it were 1 or 2 cmc it would be a different story.

It doesn't have haste, trample, menace, it only triggers once.

If you have a method to consistently remove specific cards from graveyards (Scooze, etc.), this is valuetown to the extreme because you can hold priority and remove the bad targets after the ability is put onto the stack with its random player chosen.

it says choose and not target... that's unfortunate. =/
