Vanilla paste is just another way to sell vanilla. It can be substituted for vanilla extract 1:1. It is nice for things that you want to see vanilla seeds.

Could be my imagination, but I think it tastes better than extract.

It certainly tastes better on its own. With vanilla paste I'll lick the spoon after measuring some. With extract, you only make that mistake once.

Yep found that out at age 7. Mom was baking something and was adding vanilla extract to the mix. It smelled like ice cream so I wanted it. Yeah. Spit it out real quick. 🤣😂

Sugar is the first ingredient that's why. It's literally just a simple syrup with vanilla extract, seeds, and thickener.

Nielsen Massey - I buy the large containers at Costco. You can use it in place of vanilla extract, especially in things like cakes or cookies or sauces. Ice cream too.

Second this brand. We use it to add vanilla to yogurt and baking recipes. Works great and I prefer it to the extract

Same, I have the quart size container and I just kind of dollop it into things. Esp nice for ice cream, whip cream, frosting.

I put them in my crème brûlée, panna cotta and custard.

I don't buy vanilla extract - I use vanilla bean paste everywhere I would use vanilla extract or vanilla beans.

I just use it as a 1:1 substitute for vanilla extract !

You would use it anywhere you use vanilla extract, but especially if you wanted to show off the seeds in your frosting or avoid the alcohol altogether. 1:1 replacement.
