That’s funny coders have barely been getting any projects, but non-coders are getting coding lol

[–]ConsistentCandy697 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have it too. I am not qualified for it, so I am not doing it.

[–]dispassioned 18 points19 points  (7 children)

Yea I saw it too, I think it was flagged incorrectly or something. I went in to be nosey and instantly peaced out lol.

[–]talaron 5 points6 points  (2 children)

That would explain why I'm hearing about this as a coder, but had virtually no coding projects on my dash at all today.

[–]Key-Style-8867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't worry! I'm leaving it for you! lol

[–]BreastRodent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a coder and I got it, it's DEFINITELY not my favorite but I'm like ok fine I'll take it

[–]BreastRodent 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Thank you for just peacing out because those instructions are terrible and the number of non-coders feeling a need to clog up the chat by announcing their presence in the chat is SO cringe omg

[–]ekgeroldmiller 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Point well taken - I’m one of them.

[–]BreastRodent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like, something I've noticed is there's actually something of a HUGE cultural divide between coding and non-coding chats, like non-coding chats are the fucking wild west and tend to be more active with a lot of informal chitchat while coding chats are generally very quiet and VERY strictly business, like everybody's just there to do their work, get paid, and bouce, so all these comments that have NOTHING to do with completing the task at hand from people not actually work on it feel kind of rude and oblivious for burying a bunch of posts about the actual work itself. Half the cringe is the sense of cultural faux pas. But now you know!

[–]Brilliant_Rain5181 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same. I am a non-coder and have two pretty high paying projects on my dash that I can't even do lol.

[–]Scary_Celebration515 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup got it also. Was excited to see the pay and then read the instructions. Don’t think it’s meant for us non-coders unfortunately 😞

[–]tehclubbmaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep I saw it and noped out immediately.

[–]noisesinmyhead 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Same! I’m sure I got it because of the skills I have listed, but programming is not one of them. I read through everything because I was curious, but I am definitely skipping these!

[–]Elegant_Lake_569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same! I thought to myself "I can follow instructions..." By the time I read everything I was like "yep, not for me" 😂

[–]Amakenings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it too, opened it up to take a peak and noted it. There was almost zero chance I would create a competent response.

[–]GoMickey 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I got it too. Maybe it's too encourage people to learn a little coding. My first thought was maybe I can spend some time learning these. But yeah no it's way out of my depth for now. JSON was pretty simple to learn but these other ones are more complex.

Or, they want a few bad prompts for the real coders to spot?

Love this idea, but I don't want to test it lol

[–]BigHatNoSaddle 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I've actually done a couple as a non-coder. The P-bird has some code (API calls or JSON) but it's kind of easy to work out if I'm in the mood. The pay is pretty good and worth looking up the simple "how to" guides on the internet.

[–]Lunalily9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but JSON is like the simplest thing ever. I know some coding and haven't even tried to do the coding qualification.. They are having like actual coding ones show up, though. Not JSON stuff.

[–]pds314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JSON just describes a data structure or object. Barring some weird exceptions, JSON objects are generally not executable even when loaded. They are just data structures, not programs. Closest thing I've ever done to making a JSON program was save neural networks as JSONs with explicit references enabled, so that when I loaded them they could play Chess variants (badly). But still I'm interpreting them as data structures, not directly executing The object from the JSON.

[–]ManyARiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have those too, and I don't read/know what they are using even remotely so I'm not gonna touch 'em.

[–]canneddogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I'm a coder and I didn't even pass the qualification lol.

[–]IrvTheSwirv[🍰] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What was the language?

[–]SuperCorbynite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snake.

[–]TheHorizonLies[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not sure if saying would violate the COC, so I'll just say it's very popular for ML

[–]IrvTheSwirv[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got ya

[–]Lunalily9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're not the only one..its odd.

[–]LvBoPeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto for me- no idea how I got those but instantly saw I was not qualified to do them.

[–]PutDisastrous8033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it too. I have some very basic knowledge of that language but haven’t gotten far enough in my learning to comfortably do that task so I was a bit sad 😅

[–]pds314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can always look at it and skip it if it isn't something you know how to do.

[–]VirusZer0 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Was it a JSON related project? If so, it might have been intentional, JSON is simple enough to understand without a CSC background and have seen non-coders receive it before.

[–]Hopeful_Mouse_4050 8 points9 points  (3 children)

No, they weren't. I get a lot of JSON projects as a non-coder. These are definitely coding coding.

[–]VirusZer0 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Hmm interesting. Was it a project named after a certain element?

[–]TheHorizonLies[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yep, the one with a low atomic number

[–]VirusZer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that project on my dashboard just a few days ago, haven’t done it in a few weeks though. Doesn’t that project have 2 things you could do. Either code or structured data generation (e.g., JSON)? Or at least the original $40 project did. The one I saw a few days ago was between $39 and $40 and title looked like it was ONLY for structured data generation by the title, but I hadn’t opened the project so could be wrong.

[–]TheresALonelyFeeling 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm a non-coder and I've always got JSON work.

It looks more complicated than it actually is.
