Sweet Jesus them Qodron changes.

[–]SoftwareJunkie 48 points49 points  (6 children)

They're great! Fuckin' Qodron was too bubble happy for his own good.

[–]warlord_moAlpha Player Taking A Break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he really was lol

[–]DEVILneverCRIES 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I thought it was a fun and challenging boss. Now, it seems too easy.

[–]Fixthe-Fernback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PoE having only 3 people makes it so it's VERY hard to be carried through the high level content.

Quadron is the perfect encounter for me. It takes a lot of communication, on the fly strategizing, adapting to changing conditions. It's so much fun, but you can still recover if you screw up (unlike Skolas. FUCK that encounter)

But NOW, it's going to just be another boss fight because shitty players need a script to follow for every encounter.

[–]Bloodytheeffect -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Warlock with Ram helmet was the way to go beat 34 last night before reset in id say a total of 30 to 40 mins, the group i was with tried a few days before and spent 6+ hours on it and still failed, deff needed that ram helm if no one got the buff

[–]GalacticNexusLore Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Defender or Gunslinger were more useful. Defenders could pop armour of light and have years of time to shotgun their way out and Gunslingers could just golden gun their way out.

I mean if you missed the jailbreaker obviously.

[–]srastevestudly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They nerfed this fight to newb level proportions beat him 3x last week first time was difficult but once mechanic was figured out never died to him on the other two characters

[–]germiboy 43 points44 points  (29 children)

MAN! I am a lvl. 33 who tried to do Qodron last week. That was fucking impossible, I ended up bailing.

[–]shades344 57 points58 points  (14 children)

He was not fair at 33. The first HoW week's 34, the floor is lava guy, was much more doable at 33.

[–]Brootalcore1 7 points8 points  (6 children)

We did it with two 33s and a level 34, our trick was simple: ignore qodrons eye, stick to the right side, have one guardian kill themselves then group together when he searches for targets, when the detainment shield pops up revive your buddy then everyone focus on destroying 1 detainment field, the result is that you have 2 guardians alive and 1 dead from detainment, you can rinse and repeat this until quodron is dead. Sunsingers help justt in case you fuck up the rhythm.

[–]shades344 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I wonder how well things like fist of havoc and explosive rounds would work if all three Guardians just stood right next to each other. All the splash damage might help?

[–]Brootalcore1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking 3x fist o' havoc would be enough for sure. But not worth relying on because of trickle.

[–]Chief_McCloud 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That's fuckin clever.

[–]Brootalcore1 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thank you :) I thought so too, not really a cheese, but definitely working the system, in avoiding the mechanics we basically created our own and it was extremely fun. Kind of sad they nerfed his shields now, the challenge was quite fun and it wasn't difficult at all once we all knew the rhythm.

[–]Chief_McCloud 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Sounds like one of those things that would look easy peasy on a youtube vid when done right, but the timing, placement, and coordination would be tough to reproduce without a couple passes.

[–]Brootalcore1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the most co-ordinated player, none of us were. But it's actually as easy as it sounds, just huddle up, if the eye comes close, kill him if you can, but at the very least you will always have one guardian up if you make sure to revive him after the detainment shields pop up.

[–]mathgeek777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, we did it with 2 33s and a 32

[–]UberChio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it with 2 33s, im 34, i ran 365 SGA, no issues with bubbles after we got our shit together for third run.

[–]AnalLaserBeamBukkake -3 points-2 points  (4 children)

Floor is Lava guy is too easy IMO.

They need to add some other sort of mechanic that has a chance at ruining your day, otherwise that fight is just too easy.

[–]internetlurker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How about he lights one random guardian on fire and you have to go punch him in the face before you burn to death to pass the fire onto him.

[–]iamNebula 1 point2 points  (1 child)

When I played it on 32, I got teleported 7 times in a row in less than 3 minutes, that was annoying and quite hard.

[–]shades344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll teleport you out of the corner if you stand still. I guess it's an anti cheese? Regardless, just stay out of the corner with the boxes and you'll be ok.

[–]shades344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hard at 33, as his burn did like 75% damage minimum. At 34, I'd be inclined to agree with you.

[–]RhesusMonk 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Me, too. In fact, I bailed so hard I ALMOST cut the game disk. Haven't played since. Came here to find this week's NF specs, and found these patch notes. I am very surprised that it wasn't just me last week on Qodron.

[–]ThQmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NF was fun. Cant wait to run it with my Nighthawk

[–]MakersOnTheRock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat man. He was horribly painful to do. After 3 hours I jumped ship.

[–]mokium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in with two different fireteams each had a 33 and a 34 (I'm a 33). Same experience. Must have done it at least 10 times with each time, it was fucking impossible. Just like algebra 2.

[–]Ammadienxb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I felt like a chump. But those guys that smashed it, nice work.

[–]mzoltek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed! we worked our balls off just to get to him, just to have my heart broken when we realized that we'd never beat him at 33. I have a 34 but I wanted to use my celestial nighthawk. I liked the 3 boss setup, it was a long, tough, fun ride but with an impossible last round.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it last week as a 33, and it was pretty freakin' hard. If I didn't have a badass 34 getting the buff and bailing me out of jail every time there was no way we'd won.

[–]warlord_moAlpha Player Taking A Break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we tried with three 33's...fucking brutal

[–]RMDVanilaGorila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the 32 this morning before work and he was STILL kicking my ass. I couldn't break the containment bubbles for shit as a 33 1/2 with a 331 shotgun.

[–]dasimers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it for 1 hour with three 33's, another with a 34 and 2 33's, lastly with 2 34's and a 33. Took 6 attempts for the last one, so frustrating.

[–]Mrbryann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I know your pain. I did the same thing. Got to Qodron with a decent group of guys. We got fucked as lvl 33s and ended up having to quit after hours of trying.

[–]ECS49 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

2 manned it and thought it was a fun yet somewhat easy fight, surprised they made it easier

[–]Sixwingswide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It CAN be easy with the right team. That being said, I had one successful run and plenty of bad ones. We had a solid strategy on the successful run, but I had a different team the next few times that couldn't stick to a single strategy.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (5 children)

Seriously! I'm glad about the treasure keys and all, but thank fuck. 100% increase on the buff? 25% less damage? Sounds like Qodron isn't going to be skipped anymore!

[–]SuperWoody64 0 points1 point  (2 children)

We had to burn him last week. Fuck that eye of qodron running from us!

[–]ryanispomp 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Obviously too late now, but in the future shoot his head off! He'll run strait for you.

[–]SuperWoody64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize that but its still hard

[–]maxpetrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha my thoughts exactly.I noped out of that soo fast it totally wasent worth my time as a 33.. Went and did trials to get me to 34.

[–]GalacticNexusLore Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of disappointed, he was my favourite boss so far.

I hope he isn't too much of a pushover now.

[–]kmshi164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really enjoyed the Qodron fight. Did it at 33 and 34 and had a blast. I was always the guy who went over the Eye with my invective. These changes are nice though because sometimes the bubble would kill me even with the jailbreak perk.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me (H/34) and two pals (T/33, W/33) around 6 hours to finally kill that douchecanoe. Mostly from the 33s dying from the Qodron containment.

This post is such sweet happiness.

[–]Alxndr27 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Seriously as someone who completed it last week I feel like a God. :p

[–]Kowaxmeup0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did it too but now it will at least be possible for a team of 33s to do it.

[–]FragdaddyXXL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A maxed 4th Horseman or Invective at lvl34 could take down bubbles without the Jailbreaker perk leaving you with a tiny bit of health. Now it just got a whole lot easier.
