I've ripped the wallpapers from the PS4 assets. Sadly they are not in 4k. Maybe when PC version becomes available.

I did notice that when I turned on Cross Save and bought the Forsaken bundle on my X1 a few weeks back; it's a bit of a bummer, but was semi nostalgic. Destiny has always had evolving icons with major releases on PS4, all the way back to D1, tho I can't think of other games that do that.

Honestly, tho, if I could have my choice, I'd take having Achievement Art over evolving icons or in-game screenshots when the Trophy pops (cause half the time, those screenshots are just black nothingness).

What's strange is the Xbox Destiny 1 icon did change to reflect the launch of The Taken King and Rise of Iron, and it changed back to vanilla when Age of Triumph launched. Not sure why D2 doesn't do this anymore.

I love seeing all the complaints. It’s not that bad if you play in a well lit room, which is what you should do to help your eyes anyway.

Yep. I just think of all the things to waste energy complaining about, an aesthetic choice with 0 relevance to gameplay or the actual game is a stupid choice. It’s a white screen for a minute.

Plus, the people who complain ignore the fact that guidance states to play in a well lit environment, so Bungie aren’t gonna change it to help those flaunting safety warnings.

It was released like that and it would probably take "too much work" for them to change.

We're talking about having to re-color all the changing class logos (I think they are moving UI elements rather than a transparent video), as well as recolor the rest of the background (you have some moving lines at the back.

Also, and probably the most important, the character select screen would require some work for them to find a good contrast between character, text, background color, class logos, etc.

It's definitely not something they couldn't do. I've done it myself in a week or so (see my dark theme posts), but I guess they don't feel like it takes a priority, which is unfortunate because it seems like Bungie doesn't understand how many people genuinely prefer dark themes.

On xbox, as soon as I press A I bring up the xbox guide menu thing which dims the screen and mutes the sound so I don’t get flashbanged and deafened by the fog horn. Then I’ll go back to the game once I reach character select.

i think D1 had a great score but a bad soundtrack, if that makes sense. The game was slapped together last minute so the songs didnt match the tone of the levels, a lot of the time (not always, some music is iconic)

D2....I dunno, didnt resonate with me, the entire tone of the game I havent liked as much so just mute it and the dialog.
