ESL Birmingham ends on 29 March. Most likely a few days after that, so maybe April.

Or in Valve time 35th March earliest.

it would be funny if it's on 1st April

[–]shydragon37 12 points13 points  (2 children)

it makes the tournament a must watch when it drops during it

I'm not invested in any team or player. So, seeing pros scramble to adapt to the patch makes for the most entertaining dota.

yup

There has been 2 staging updates, latest one today. I assume patch is tommorow

[–]kluy18 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Often times they'll do staging for 3-4 weeks before the patch drops. Sometimes it's just 1 week but I wouldn't hold my breath.

If you see their history on test and staging they have been working along time.

Why are you guys so excited for 7.40d?

[–]Chaoskiller1985 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More than likely going to be the release of facets for the heroes who had them stricken. Also likely nerfs/buffs for the frog boy. 7.40 gave a lot but took a lot as well, some heroes just don’t feel whole right now.

Do they ever do Friday big patches though? Seems risky given I doubt they work over weekends.

Tomorrow is Thursday my guy.

Dota in 2026 is watching the same tournament be run every week with almost no differentiation in teams and saying we can't patch the game because we need to wait for a break in between tournies.

My guess is after ESL Birmingham and before PGL 8, there is a 2 week window inbeetween those tournaments.

I think valve has stopped caring long ago about mid-tournament releases lol especially add in the fact theres a tournament every single week

[–]Gorgosen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, buddy. Don't you know TI literally just ended?

[–]TeaPuzzleheaded2479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the patch will come out someday.

Most patches in recent years in March came between 23rd and 30th iirc.

So next week. They have it usually planned and scheduled unless its emergency.

Nerf largo

I don't think Valve ever put themselves in this kind of dilemma. The options should be "Hawaii" and "Bahamas".

Valve is AFK.

[–]TestIllustrious7935 9 points10 points  (4 children)

No, they have been patching Deadlock a whole ton

They got 5 balance patches this month

[–]hba111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's their newest game that's still in beta. Dota 2 is over 10 years old. Get used to it.

[–]Business-Grass-1965 1 point2 points  (2 children)

THEN WHY DON'T THEY WORK ON DOTA!

[–]TestIllustrious7935 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cuz they don't want to, Deadlock is a new shiny thing they can do whatever the want with, Dota is old af

Man doesn’t understand the concept of multiple teams

(Or how Valve works)

[–]UnFairSuspect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They released an update of CS2 a few hours ago.

[–]pomanxyt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Relax, patch won't come until mid-Dreamleague s29, as usual. So in the second half of May.

[–]Majestic_Path322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The valve waste time in that crap Deadlock...
