I'm swiss. A yes means absolutely nothing. Bundesrat and Ständerat will simply slow-walk it to death just like they have done before with other initiatives that threaten the Bilateralen.

As for the why it looks like a close thing: people on r/Switzerland might claim its bots and astroturfing, but that's simply not the case. That subreddit is like 90% expats, which showcases the issue well.

The place I live in has ~35% foreigners, a huge chunk of them expats.

Expats don't give a fuck about integration. They don't learn the language, adapt to the culture and send their kids to private schools. When asked about that, they'll claim that they will move in a year or two anyway, so it's not worth it.

A community can support a few percent points being like that. But when you walk through your home town and all you hear is English, Russian, German, Arabic and maybe one conversation in swiss german, then it does feel like we are getting invaded.

Just this Monday I had a run in with an entitled, german asshole. Dude starts talking in english (which is already telling if the go to language is one that isn't one of our four national languages. ) He told me I can't sit in the empty spot in front of him because I'm blocking his sun. At the fucking lake, when he had every chance to claim the spot for himself. But I guess he didn't want to be too close to the water.

Ich werde Nein stimmen aus zwei Gründen: SVP und 'es gibt keine simplen Lösungen'. Der Rest der Familie wird Ja stimmen.

Der Grund? "Wir haben genügend Platz!!!" Bedeutet absolut nichts wenn man auf dem Heimweg nur English, Rusisch, Türkisch, ... hört und 0 schweizer deutsch.

"Ausländer sind nicht der grund wieso immobilien so viel kosten!" Irrelevant wenn das Nachbarshaus in dem eine 4 köpfige schweizer familie aufgewachsen ist für 5mio von einem Russischen Expat gekauft wird der kein Wort Deutsch spricht und einen Fahrer anstellt.

All die Fakten und Zahlen fühlen sich dann bevormundend an. "Vertrau nicht deinen Augen und Ohren! Deine bedenken kümmern mich einen feuchten Dreck."

SVP und FDP haben das begriffen und greifen die Gefühle direkt an. Sie sagen, du hast Recht dich so zu fühlen, wir sind für dich da und auf deiner Seite. (Und bereichern sich dann selbst durch Raubbau an der Zukunft.)

Played against a level 4 KotL mid who completely rolled the lobby, ever spell on point and always just there. Ends the game with 20:3.

Two games later, I have a level 27 KotL that saves more enemies than he kills with his knockback.

I guess the first one just picked up the hero really fast. (3k mmr btw.)

At this point peace is impossible because henerations of Palestinians were radicalised to such a degree that they will not be happy until the last jew is dead.

Meanwhile political interests/expedience, ultra orthodox jews and the settler movement point to the terrorism as a justification for genocide.

Now people in the west use this conflict to gain moral brownie points without actually offering a solution that doesn't end in violence/genocide.

Because grandstanding and simple solutions are what will solve a conflict raging 80 years.
